To explore the relationships between acupuncture and anesthesia or analepsia, and provideatheoretical basis for its clinic application on pets, this experiment researched the anestheticeffects and recovery quality of general anesthetized dogs that were dealt with different acupuncture methods. There 25 healthy Poodleswere used in the experiment. They were averagelyand randomly divided into 5 groups, group Laser Renzhong?GV-26??group LR?,group Electric Acupuncture+AcupunctureRenzhong?groupEA+AR?,groupAcupuncture Renzhong?group AR?,group Electric Acupuncture?group EA?and Model group?group M?.METHO DS:All dogs were sedated with Dexmedeto midine and anesthetized with Zoletil50,and then werestimulated withasimulated surgical stimulation.?1?30 min before anesthesia, dogs'in group EA+AR and EAhadelectroacupuncture on He Gu?LI-4?,NeiGuan?PC-6?,ZuSanLi?ST-36?bilaterally,and BaiHui,WeiGen?GV-2?on the trunk with dilatational waves in 20/80Hz and 20/120Hz two different frequencies, each frequency was performed for 15 min;?2?5 min after simulatedsurgical stimulation, group EA+AR and AR had dry needle on GV-26 with syringe needle for 5 min ma nual stimulation.?3?Dogs in Group LR were irradiated with a 2-3mW He-Ne laser onGV-26 for 5min persistently when5minafterthe simulatedsurgical stimulation.MEASURES:?1?Physiological index include Rectal temperature?RT?,Respiration rate?RR?,End-tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure?PetCO2?,Pulse oxygen saturation?SpO2?,Systolic blood pressure?SBP?,Diastolic blood pressure?DBP?,Mean arterial pressure?MAP?and Pulse?P?;?2?Assessment of the quality of anesthesiaand analepsia:Recorded the time when the dogs from conscious status?basic value/T0?to anesthesia?T1?,to disappear the paw withdrawal reflection?T2?and palpebral reflex?T3?,to be intubated?T4?,to appear the palpebral reflex?T5?and paw withdrawal reflection?T6?,to be extubated?T7?,to raisehead?T8?,to pronate?T9?,to stand?T10?and to walk?T11?.And the time points that1min after simulated surgical stimulation?T4.5?,30mins after first walking?T12?,12 Hours?T12h?and 24 Hours after Anes thesia?T24h?were also recorded. The score of anesthesia were recorded every 5 minutes during T1 to T11,and the qualityrecovery score were recorded at the stage of anelapsia.?3?Serum index of stress include Catecholamine?CA?and Cortisol, which were measured with peripheral venous blood at 10 time points included T0,T1,T4,T4.5,T7,T9,T11,T12,T12h and T24h.RESULTS:?1?The Physiological changes showed that the RT of dogs in group EA+ARand EA were lower than dogs'in group Mat T1 to T4,T8 and T9?P<0.05?,but still kept in the normal range.Compared the respiratory system indexes with group M,dogs in group EA+AR demonstrated significantly lower SpO2at T2?P<0.01?,and lower RR of dogs in group EA+AR and EA at T8?P<0.05?,and higher SpO2of dogs in group EA and LR at T9 to T11?P<0.05?.About the cardiovascular system, dogs in group EA+AR showed higher SBP,DBPand MAP than those in group LR?P<0.05?,and their Pwere higher than those in group M and LRat T2?P<0.05?,and then at T7,their MAP were also higher than those in group M?P<0.05?.?2?The serum concentration of CA:Group EA+AR and EA were lower than group AR and LR at T4.5?P<0.05?,and then at T7,group M increased significantly when it compared withthe other four experimental groups?P<0.01?,but at the time ofT9,T11 and T14,the group LR was significantly reduced when it compared with group M?P<0.01?.?3?The dogs'serum concentration of Cortisol:Group M's concentration was much higher at T11 and T14 than at the time ofT0 to T4.5?P<0.01?.Compared withtheir respective concentrations at T0,group EA+AR was lowerat T7?P<0.05?,group EA was much lower at T4.5to T11?P<0.01?,and group LR was also much lower at T7 to T11?P<0.01?.?4?The dogs'anesthesia periods in group EA were longer than those in the other four groups?P<0.05?,andthey extended 7.48min averagely than those in group M.And the dogs'anesthesia recovery periods in group AR demonstrated significantly shorter than those in the other four groups?P<0.01?,and they were 20.31minaveragely shorter than those in group M.?5?During the anesthesia recovery period,T6,and T8 to T11 of dogs in group AR were significantly earlier than those in group M and EA?P<0.01?,and T6 to T11 of dogs in group EA+AR were earlierthan those in group M and EA?P<0.05?.T7 of dogs in group EA and LR were significantly delayed compared with those in group M?P<0.01?;?6?At the time of 20min,the anesthetic score of dogs in group ARwere lower than that in the other four groups?P<0.05?.RESULTS:In short, the acupuncturemethod thatcombinedpreanesthetic electro-acupuncture with dry needle or laser acupuncture on GV-26has a positive regulatory roleat the stage of anesthesia and anelapsia of the dogs,by means of affecting the dog's physiological function and endocrine system and so on.Toa certain extentit showeditssafety and practicability, which suggested its further application and promotion for the pet clinic.
