The establishment of horticultural discipline in China has been more than forty years ago.The quality of gardening talents has attracted more and more attention from the society.Curriculum is an important way to train talents,and is also a vital guarantee for the quality of talents.Curriculum teaching,as the main way to improve the quality of personnel training,is attracting more and more attention.Therefore,the key to the cultivation of high quality and high level innovative and to compound talents is to see how colleges and universities should set up the curriculum in the field of horticultural application,which is undoubtedly of great practical significance.This paper is mainly composed of the following parts:the first part is a literature review.Firstly elaborating,secondly the curriculum theory,curriculum system and the construction of horticulture major in China and abroad are summed up and the current situation and problems of horticulture industry are explained,laying the groundwork for the following research.The second part analyses and describes the present situation of the subject curriculum in 29 universities with the authorization point of the master's degree in horticulture subject.The third part is empirical research,mainly in 1032 graduate students of horticultural discipline in the study samples,using spss22.0 to the recovery of the questionnaire data for linear regression analysis of the impact of horticultural professional skills to verify and analyze the independent variables affecting the upgrading of horticultural expertise.The fourth part is case study,which analyzes the excellent experience and practice of Cornell University's horticulture course construction,and the fifth part is to put forward the countermeasures and suggestions for the optimization of our co untry's horticultural discipline.This research belongs to the application study.In order to understand the actual situation of the current Chinese horticulture course,the author visited many famous domestic universities,such as Sichuan Agricultural University,Zhejiang University,Nanjing Agricultural University and Shenyang Agricultural University.Through semi-structured interview,we got a realistic data,and the research angle and research method are innovative.Through the evaluation of these variables,such as curriculum construction,course learning,teaching effect,teachers and their teaching methods and teaching organization form in horticultural discipline,all through the significant test,which mean that the curriculum teaching of horticultural discipline has a significant positive effect on the promotion of professional skills.However,to improve and perfect the course construction,the author also puts forward some suggestions:(1)To adjust the structure of curriculum and define the goal of postgraduate training in horticultural discipline;(2)To optimize the integration of curriculum teaching content and achieve the organic combination of different courses;(3)To reform the teaching model and devote to the cultivation of innovative horticultural talents;(4)To promote the construction of the teaching staff of horticultural discipline;(5)To perfect the system of curriculum management and the system of teaching evaluation.
