Each place has its own unique local culture,and local cultural elements,as the most typical representative symbol of a region,reflect the differences of each place,and are an important part of local culture.Design is often based on culture,which puts forward new requirements for modern design.Especially in the packaging design of local characteristic goods,the docking of local culture and modern design can make it more adapt to the needs of consumers.Weifang is a city with a history of thousands of years.Under the mutual influence of social and cultural background,human activities and natural environment,weifang has gradually formed distinct regional cultural characteristics.The local culture of Weifang is rich and diverse,the most representative is the Weifang kite,its forms are various,the symbol characteristic is extremely strong,the color modelling is unique.Weifang kites are one of the traditional folk handicrafts in Weifang,which is listed as the national Intangible Cultural Heritage.The Weifang International Kite Festival has been sucessfully hosted many times,which makes Weifang kites become more and more international.Tourists from home and abroad travelling in Weifang often buy the goods of local characteristics and give them to their relatives and friends as souvenirs.Therefore,in addition to the regular functions of packaging,Weifang kite packaging should also be used as a carrier to convey commodity information and play a role in the dissemination of local culture.However,there are still many problems in packaging in the current market and they are listed as follows: it can't accurately grasp the use of traditional elements;only the simple stacking of patterns are used;it is lacking of the modeling of specific regional culture;the design is only based on the position of national culture without considering the international commonality;and it can not be better recognized and remembered by consumers in different countries,etc..Therefore,it can't meet the purchasing needs of consumers.The following ways of design are put forward: 1.Understanding and studying the history origins,development,artistic characteristics,cultural connotation of Weifang kites to explore the problems existing in the goods packaging of Weifang kites;2.The current problems of weifang kite packaging were analyzed;3.Summarize the categories and characteristics of local culture and extract the relevant elements;4.Combined with the relevant theories to analyze the successfulcases,looking for innovative design strategies;5.Focusing on the improvement of graphics languages,expression forms of styles and other aspects to find out the commonality and conduct the overall planning and design;6.Analyze the consumer's purchase purposes,carry out different design plannings according to different needs,and meet the needs of different consumer groups in serial packaging forms.
