The posture of the driver and occupant is one of the decisive factors affecting the layout of the vehicle, and the objective and accurate prediction and evaluation of the comfortable sitting position of the driver and occupant is the key to accurately simulate the main driving posture, which is particularly important to ensure the quality of vehicle design. In this paper, the prediction and evaluation of the comfortable posture of drivers and passengers, mainly including the study of comfortable sitting posture based on pressure distribution and the study of seat position distribution considering comfort, was investigated. The results of these research can effectively assist the practitioners in the design of vehicle layout.Although there are various methods for evaluating the sitting comfort of drivers and passengers, most of the methods are disturbing and inaccurate.Aiming at these shortcomings, the comfortable sitting behavior based on pressure distribution as the research object and how to evaluate the sitting comfort of drivers and passengers was studied in this paper. To this end,two experimental scenarios(simulated driving, simulated riding)and two seat parameters(high cushion angle, low cushion angle)were designed. The experimental population was divided according to their body parameters(height, weight). For different populations, experiments were performed to obtain task data, seat parameter information, human parameter information, and sitting behavior as corresponding stress data.In this paper, the Pearson correlation coefficient was calculated to show that there was a strong correlation between the number of exercises performed by the participants and the perceived(discomfort)comfort in a limited space, and that when people adjusted their discomfort, they tended to have smaller movements. With regard to the applicability of the task scenario, this paper presents that the evaluation method based on the pressure distribution will achieve better results when simulating a ride task scenario, but it is not suitable for simulating a ride task scenario. For the impact of human parameters on the subject population,a series of explorations was also conducted in this paper. This paper proposes that the number of movements performed by higher and lighter people is significantly higher than that of shorter and heavier people. The correlation between exercise and comfort in different body parts was explored. In the end,the movements and human feelings of each stage according to the time series was analyzed in this paper, and it is proved that the subject's comfort gradually deteriorates with the increase of time. The position of the driver's seat has important reference significance for the layout of the seats in the cockpit. However, the existing research on the prediction of the position of the driver's seat mainly focuses on the distribution of the most comfortable seat positions and the most comfortable extreme positions. The transition distribution between the two is rarely studied, and less consideration is given to influencing factors, which cannot meet the needs of industry personnel.Aiming at these shortcomings, the driver's seat position and feeling was took as the research object, and how to evaluate and predict the driver's seat was studied. To this end, three seat angles was designed. In this paper, the experimental population was divided into different groups according to their body parameters(height, weight),and then experiments were performed to obtain different seat position data with driving environment information, body parameter information, and subjective evaluation information. This study is the first to demonstrate that the impact of different driving environments on the driver 's position is indeed different through multivariate analysis of variance.Using Tukey post-hoc tests and other methods to explore the impact of seat angle and height on the seat position distribution curve, this paper presents that as the seat angle increase, the comfort curve of the seat position will be shifted upward, that is,the position corresponding to the same comfort will be closer to the steering wheel as the seat angle increases. In this paper, with the help of the Lineanr by-Linear Association method and Spearman rank correlation analysis,it was proved that the coordinates of each comfort position node decrease with the increase of the height of the crowd, that is,the position corresponding to the same comfort under the same cushion angle will change with the height of the crowd. Then,a paired t-test with Bonferroni correction was used to check whether the driver's positional feeling was symmetrical, and this paper illustrates that the comfort distribution curve is symmetrically distributed about the most comfortable position points. Finally, from a quantitative perspective, based on the polynomial method, radial basis function network(RBF,Radial Basis Function),multinomial logistic regression model, and multi-layer perceptron(MLP)method, the driver's experience model and evaluation model were established. Some progress in the evaluation of driver's posture comfort and the study of seat position distribution considering comfort has been made in this paper. In terms of posture comfort evaluation for drivers and passengers, the sitting posture comfort evaluation method based on human pressure and motion proposed in this paper reduces the interference of traditional methods to the user, and provides new ideas for the comfort evaluation of sitting posture in the car.In the study of seat position distribution considering comfort, the research started from the two dependent variables of height and cushion angle, their influence on seat position comfort was explored, and suggestions for seat design for different groups of people were proposed in this paper. This process fully reflects the people-oriented design concept. In addition, the seat position distribution curve and neural network evaluation model under different height crowds and seat parameters were also proposed in this paper, which could be used as a reference for seat layout, which was beneficial to further improve the product while reducing design man-hours and costs.
