There are many factors affecting riding comfort of seat, such as hardness, modeling design, airflow over seat surface, road roughness. The quality of seat designing directly affects driver’s subjective feeling, even causes the driving fatigue. To determine seat design dimensions and parameters, it appears to go through trial and error in design process to verify the influence on riding comfort with different parameters. There are many factors affecting dynamic seat comfort, including drivers’ mentality and physiology, vibration transmission property, short and long drive vibration character. This paper focuses on statistic seat comfort. The design processes for driver comfort are mostly limited to the subjective evaluation and seat test, but it lacks simulation analysis method in the concept design phase. This paper conducts simulation of seat comfort based on pressure distribution, and processes verification test with subjective and objective evaluation experiment.Firstly, this paper has built Chinese P50 human body model based on USA 50 th human model in PAM-Comfort through changing height, weight and size according to P50 human body size of GB10000-88.Secondly, it has changed seat foam density, and made PAM-Comfort output three pressure evaluation indexes: peak pressure contact, contact area, average contact pressure in the simulation. It has analyzed pressure distribution characteristics between foam density and three evaluation indexes, and picked out three foam densities to be validated.Thirdly, this paper has carried out subjective and objective evaluation experiments on the trial chairs, using one-way analysis of variance to analyze the relationship between foam density and three pressure indexes, using correlation analysis method to eliminate repetitive evaluation indexes, and using analytic hierarchy process to determine the weight of subjective evaluation indexes.Finally, it has compared the statistical of objective evaluation with simulation to validate the consistency of simulation and experiments, using subjective comfort evaluation results to verify the comfort level of simulation and experiments.This study has established driver model which has high accuracy, most of the simulation results show the consistency with experiment results, and the subjective evaluation and objective experiments also have high consistency. The study has established foundation of seat comfort forward designing.
