Planning Of Zhongxing New Village In Taiwan Based On The Theory Of Garden City

Garden city is the foundation of modern planning theory.After 100 years of development,the word "garden city" contains comprehensive information.It is a dynamic model of city based on social reform.It emphasizes not the form,but the way of expression of social structure and spatial background.In the real society,there are few towns built according to the theory of idyllic city.The author’s understanding of idyllic city mostly stays at the theoretical stage.Zhongxing New Village is the first new town in Taiwan after the Second World War to draw lessons from idyllic cities and related theories.It plays an important role in the history of urban planning in Taiwan.The construction of Zhongxing New Village is aimed at entering a "modern" society.Planners believe that the ideal living environment should be the combination of city and village,work and residence,and a new town with modern public service facilities.Zhongxing New Village is the ideal space for the future living environment in Taiwan in 1950 s.It represents the most advanced social regulations at that time.Combination of planning theory and engineering technology.This paper takes Zhongxing New Village as the research object.The main research content is to analyze the planning methods and characteristics of Zhongxing New Village from the perspective of idyllic city theory.After collecting basic data and investigating on the spot,this paper summarizes the background of the formation of Xingxin Village,the development process of planning and the composition of urban spatial form.Based on the planning principles of Zhongxing New Village,this paper summarizes the planning characteristics of Zhongxing New Village,and comments on the development status and existing problems of Zhongxing New Village through the study of modern urban planning methods such as land use zoning,functional space zoning,neighborhood unit,road grading system,Park and green space system,and public service facilities construction.With the progress of the times,Zhongxing New Village,a new town built under the "strong planning" policy,has gradually entered a recession after half a century.The decline of cities has now become a direction of global urban development in the 21 st century.This is the development of Counter-urbanization in the latter part of urbanization,and the result of cities losing their functions gradually.In the process of rapid urbanization and transformation in China,there are many similarities between urban-rural integration policy and idyllic city theory.This similarity is not only the composition of urban space,but also the corresponding social problems behind the city.The author hopes to deepen the cognition of the theory of garden city and summarize the methods,problems and experience of the theory of garden city in practice through the study of the development process and planning characteristics of Zhongxing new village town,so as to provide more ideas for the future urban development and old city renewal in China.
