Spatial equity is an important issue to ensure the healthy and orderly development of the city.As the manager of a city, the government should plan and manage the city to promote its economic growth, and at the same time, they should also guarantee the profits and equality of all residents in the city. These all challenge the urban managers.By setting up an agent-based model based on spatial equilibrium, this thesis stimulates the relationship and interaction between urban attributes, urban structure, urban output and urban spatial equity.Furthermore, this thesis also studies the impacts of the development mode of the new town on the spatial equity of the whole city with reference to the background and practical cases of the development of the new town.In this thesis,an agent-based model is conducted based on spatial equilibrium and the influencial mechanism between urban attributes, urban structure, production and urban spatial equity is explored by simulations,in addition, the impact of the development of new towns on urban spatial equi ty based on the case of new towns. This thesis develops AMM model and LRH model, which are classical urban economic models, and incorporates urban managers' spatial planning to analyze the city production in urban and spatial equity between residents under the different urban structures. The results indicate that the changes of urban attributes and structures have different effects on urban output, economic benefits and commuting costs of different types of residents.Generally, urban agglomeration will increase the income of the higher-income groups significantly, and reduce the income of the lower-income groups and consequence in widening the gap between the different groups. However,in the different circumstances, the groups and magnitude of the resident s who suffer losses or gain benefits are different. For example, when the urban center is separated, although the reduction of agglomeration has a negative impact on high-income groups, the main residents who suffer losses are the middle-income residents, the high-income and low-income groups are less affected. Moreover, the theisis investigates the issues of s patial equity under the construction of new town. The results show that when the cost of enterprise migration to the new town is reduced, the commuting distance of each resident group decreases to a certain degrees, and the impact of the new town on the primiary city is restricted in an optimal range. When the new town locates at a certain distancefrom the primary city, not only the residents' commuting distance decreases, but also the income of most residents increases. In the end, this thesis further simulates and analyses Beijing and Tongzhou area. The results show that the construction of traffic system in Tongzhou area needs to be further improved before it can effectively functed as a sub-center.At the same time, attention should be paid to controlling the scale and type of enterprises introduced into the sub-center,in order to realize the virtuous circle of the development of sub-center.From the perspective of micro-simulation,this paper deeply explores the formational and influencal mechanism of urban spatial equity, and puts forward corresponding policy implications in regard to the development of new towns. The thesis provides scientific theoretical foundation for identifying and improving urban spatial equity and optimizing urban form.
