| New Town in China is an important way for the rapid develop-ing big cities to expand the space. Scrutinizing the present development situation, blind expansion has resulted in a lot of problems,with the TOD mode can be effectively resolved. However, how to build a New Town space by using the TOD concept, not covered by the existing research, which is also the starting point of research in this paper.This paper is divided into four parts, the first part including one to three chapters. First of all,the research background, object, situation, meaning and methods were introduced. Then proceeded a cognition of New Town around the big cities,and finally described the TOD-related ideas and practices.The second part is the fourth chapter, the process of constructing a theory of this paper, elaborated the construction of the principles and methods of New Town TOD spatial patterns from five aspects.The third part is the fifth chapter, the process of empirical research, through the analysis of Zhuhai northern TOD case, constructing an empirical study of the above principles and methods.The fourth part is the conclusion and outlook section. Summarized the main conclusions of this study, presented innovation of this paper, and pointed out that further research prospects.Focusing on TOD mode, this paper studies how to build a New Town space through it. The innovation points of the paper mainly include the following aspects:First, separate New Town from New City, taking a specific studies to its planning and construction methods.Second, the paper raised the point of view that TOD model is fitted with the New Town. Third, for the first time, TOD model will be applied to the entire space construction of the New Town.Fourth, put forward the New Town space of TOD mode of five parts: space growth pattern of point-axis-surface, mixed land use pattern, the permeable road network, open public space that all can enjoy and diversified transportation systems. |
