In the past two decades, the rapid development of Chinese cities has brought about a series of social problems. In this context,China's big cities have gradually shifted from incremental expansion to inventory optimization. The renewal of inventory land is different from the development of incremental land.In response, the traditional streets of contemporary China call for a systematic and comprehensive micro-renewal thinking from the bottom up.In this paper, based on public participation in research promote the development of micro update traditional street as the breakthrough point of the traditional street update strategy,on the contemporary world and China's traditional street update the status quo on the basis of the comparison, analysis and synthesis,in full awareness that is associated with traditional street update of above various factors as the basis of traditional neighborhood development characteristics, summed up the contemporary traditional street update trend micro; At the same time,in the context of public participation, the micro renewal strategy of traditional streets from the macro, medium and micro levels is brought into the theoretical research framework, and the traditional street micro renewal strategy based on public participation is proposed. The traditional street micro-renewal strategy based on public participation is an extension of the existing traditional street renewal theory and thinking method, which provides certain reference and guiding significance for the public participation practice and design practice of traditional street micro-renewal in the contemporary and future development process. This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter of the traditional street development of the contemporary world and China has carried on the brief summary, the core of the thesis research question: how to promote the contemporary Chinese traditional streets by micro update update and development,at the same time clear from the Angle of public participation in the study of contemporary traditional street update strategy, define the object of study in contemporary China's urban traditional streets, and introduces the relevant research results at home and abroad, illustrates the research significance, method and framework. The second chapter summarizes the relevant theories of micro-renewal,discusses the transformation of traditional street renewal mode under the background of China's incremental development turning to stock optimization, and introduces the development practice of traditional street micro-renewal at home and abroad. At the same time, the relevant theories of public participation are summarized and combined with the relevant theories of public participation, the intervention strategies of public participation in the micro-renewal of traditional streets in China are explored. The third chapter, based on the analysis of phenomena, the inspiration of theory and the exploration of practice, puts forward the basic principles and objectives of micro-renewal of traditional streets. The main body of the research framework of micro-renewal strategy conforming to the objective development trend of traditional streets is constructed, which includes the elaboration of the components of micro-renewal of traditional streets and the action ideas of public participation in micro-renewal.The fourth chapter,on the basis of the previous research, constructs and sorts out the traditional street micro-renewal strategy based on public participation from the macro level, the medium level and the micro level. The fifth chapter takes the thoughts and practices of traditional street micro-renewal in zishui and cross-strait under the public participation experienced by the author as an example to further illustrate the application and exploration of traditional street micro-renewal strategy based on public participation in practical projects.
