At present,all aspects of our country have developed rapidly,and great economic and political achievements have been made in development.Poverty alleviation,urbanization and new rural construction are rapidly changing the appearance of towns and townships.However,some traditional cultures and residential buildings that have been preserved from ancient times to present are slowly forgotten,and many valuable and meaningful ancient buildings bearing traditional culture are facing great threats.This paper mainly makes a comparative study of the large private manors and their family culture and ancestral temple culture in Shanxi,Henan and Shaanxi provinces in the middle reaches of the Yellow River.Through field visits,surveys and mapping,the paper studies three private manors from various aspects.The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation.Agriculture is the earliest,most basic and most important livelihood industry of the people here.Natural economy dominates.People here have their own unique way of life and cultural customs.These cultures contain the essence of Chinese traditional culture.Due to the existence of cultural,economic,climatic and geological differences,various architectural styles and forms of settlement have gradually formed.Private manor is one of the most representative forms of settlement composition.In the long-term labor production,the people in the manor settlements gradually formed their own clan culture and farming culture,which have strong local folk color and can be said to be the local cultural heritage.The site selection,architectural form,courtyard layout,architectural decoration and furniture display of the manor are not only an act,but also a cultural phenomenon.More in-depth,these are the concrete manifestations of Chinese traditional culture,but also the emotional sustenanceof the working people to life.Based on this point of departure,the author makes a thorough investigation in Shanxi,Shanxi and Henan provinces in the middle reaches of the Yellow River,travels all over the land of Shanxi,Shaanxi and Henan provinces,collects and collates many important documents and materials in-depth,visits the memory of many older generations and local scholars,and surveys and maps every useful traditional building on the spot,so as to conduct in-depth research for this article.Research lays the foundation.
