Henan Ancestral Hall Folk Culture And Architectural Space Research

The ancestral temple is the product of the Chinese traditional patriarchal system and the hierarchical system.It is not only the place where the ancestors are sacrificed and the rituals are held,but also the place where the clan composes the genealogy and deals with public affairs.It is an essential traditional folk building.Henan province is one of the birthplace of the C hinese nation,and the root of the Chinese civilization and the Han culture.It is the national political,economic and cultural center and the place where the Central Plains culture came into and evolved since ancient times.This topic focuses on the Chinese folk ancestral hall as the object of study,takes Henan province as the geographical background and studies the folk ancestral building and culture in this area,through field investigation,research,and the collection of the relevant literatures.This paper exemplifies the field investigation of the ancestral hall in Henan area,and systematically researches and summarizes the connotation of the building space and the culture of the ancestral hall from the architectural space of the ancestral hall,the architectural structure frame,the architectural decoration art and the ancestral hall culture.In addition,Ancestral culture in today’s heritage development has been extended in this paper.This paper starts from macro narratives of the ancestral hall culture,analyzes the influence of the ancestral hall in Henan province.Then,it researches the architectural space and decoration structure of the ancestra l hall,deeply studies the folk ancestral building in Henan province,and analyzes the ancestral hall from the sociological point of view.The author hopes the research results will help people understand the ancestral hall and make it as a theoretical reference on the current development of the ancestral hall culture.
