Under the influence of the sustainable development idea, industrial factories that were located in the center of the city have begun to move to outskirts of the cities little by little. The original site has become a negative space that were not well replaced or reused, and its rundown has brought many adverse effects on the social environment and economic development of the city.It is also such a pity that there is already a big part of industrial heritage hasn't yet reached any level of judgement on industrial heritage.Without any compulsory protection of national policies, these industrial heritages were often violently erased or improperly reused during the development process. In order to avoid the tragedy of the industrial heritage that has great potential value being destroyed, systematic research can effectively provide some substantial guidance before the transformation, and it can also adapt the developed industrial heritage to the development of the times Give certain guidance to secondary development and utilization.Rail transportation is a booster for the development of the surrounding industries and economy, however,"Retired while still occupying the space" issue of railways has become a barrier to the development of cities in today's society.Abandoned tracks in city areas are less polluting and are closely connected to the surroundings,so its negative space can be transformed at a lower cost to get better results. In the future, research on landscape reconstruction of abandoned city railways and surrounding abandoned industrial building facilities will still be one of the issues that urgently needs solving in city development. On the basis of summing up previous research and practical experience, this thesis explores how to transform the abandoned section of Simeitang of Wuhan-Jiujiang Railway into a railway cultural ecological park with recreational education significance, combining the existing Simeitang Park and Wuchang Jiangtan Park. After field visits inperson,by using the PSPL survey method, the recreational behavior needs of residents in the Simeitang section of the Wuhan-Jiujiang Railway are explored,to create a public open space that continues the memory of city context, meanwhile taking the needs and opinions of citizens into account. This thesis also aims to reorganize and reuse neglected people, negative sites and idle facilities,to regenerate the negative space of the city.
