Study On The Landscape Optimization Of Urban Riverfront Revetment Space In Wuhan

The city waterfront public open space is the image window provides a variety of recreational activities for the public. It is also an important leisure venues. In recent years, it raised the movement with the waterfront development and further development around the world. Wuhan city is located at the junction of the Yangtze River and Han River. It has formed a unique culture due to the unique geographical environment. However, with of economic development and the accelerating process of city construction of nearly ten years, various problems arose regarding the design of the waterfront public open space, including those related to ecology, environment and cultural protection.Taking the riverfront revetment space of the marshland in Wuhan for instance, the author carries out the investigation of multi-level and multi-angle analysis to the region with the unique geographical background. The paper hope to be able to put the optimize design research results into practice at the same time with solving the city flood control problems. And keeping the landscape ecology and accessibility of the riverfront revetment space and the sustainability of green space system.Firstly, the present study, based on the related theories of environmental psychology, landscape ecology, water resource protection and utilization theories, landscape and image related theory, tried to analysis the general situation of the riverfront revetment space. And through the research of the content and requirements between the recreational function and the flood control, discussed the contradiction and conflict of the two aspects.Secondly, the study discusses and analyses the present situation of the embankments and revetment space landscape construction from such aspects as the overall layout, the continuation of traditional culture, the riverside traffic, the riverside buildings, embankment construction, space activities and the ecological environment.Finally, through the investigation of the revetment space and the visit to the users, the research summarized the problems in the construction process. Combined with the theories and the corresponding landscape design principles, it carried out the optimization strategy on the waterfront embankment space landscape.
