Comparative Study Of Historic Cities With Completely Conserved Wall

City wall is significant characteristic of historic cities in China, and also important proof of cultural texture. At the same time, City wall attract numerous travelers, but excessive touring exploit bring destruction to these historic cities. The thesis chose Pingyao, Jingzhou, Shouxian and Xingcheng as research objects, which has whole city wall. The location and financial condition of these cities are different, but they face the similar questions in conservational field. The four citywall cities, Pingyao, Jingzhou, Shouxian and Xingcheng, summarized lots of experience and lesson, which will help other cities.It should take account of integrated historic surroundings into the conservation of city wall. The thesis analyzes the characteristics of citywall cities with comparative methods. And then, basing on the theories on city study and city conservation, the thesis advances some measures on the conservation of characteristics, the relations on conservation of the wall and the city and the conservation and development of citywall cities.
