Landscape Conservation Planning Of Historic Cities And Towns

Since the reform and opening policy and with the speedy advancement of urbanization, the traditional feature of historic cities and towns is disappearing quickly and a great many cities and towns are facing the characteristic crisis of "all the cities looking alike". The principle of landscape conservation values the interaction between natural environment and artificial environment, and emphasizes the integrated conservation of both of them, which is an effective theoretical method to fight for the characteristic crisis of cities and towns.The thesis firstly summarizes and reviewes the relevant research about historical town and city protection based on the analysis of the literature, and puts forward the connotation of landscape of historical towns and cities.Historic city and town landscape includes two parts: natural landscape and artificial landscape which including material landscape and the Intangible Cultural landscape. The thesis, with the combination of the landscape characteristics and kept situation of our national historic landscape, discusses landscape conservation planning of historic urban from theory to facts in four terms: natural landscape, historic landscape, in which, natural landscape conservation discusses the topic from four terms :landscape pattern , the skyline of natural features, green space system and old trees ; historic node landscape conservation from three aspects: signifying building, important cultural relics , eight sceneries of city and town ; the conservation of traditional pattern and face from three terms :the whole space pattern , traditional texture and building height; and the Intangible Cultural landscape conservation in three aspects: the type of the Intangible Cultural landscape, conservation planning, the reflection in landscape design.This thesis takes Wugong Town as a real example at last,analyzes the current situation and characteristics of the town by field survey,with the comnbination of conservation planning theory and specific condition of the town,and puts forward a series of planning measures,including protecting landscape pattern,controlling natural skyline,protecting and planning green system,protecting node landscape,lasting traditional texture, inheritting the intangible cultural heritage ,etc. to realize the conservation of the characteristic landscape of Wugong Town and to be used as a source of reference for historic cities and towns of the same kind.
