As one of the fastest growing industries since China's reform and development,the automobile industry has made tremendous contributions to China's national economic development and per capita income,and has become an important part of promoting social development.China is now facing a new era of economic transformation and transformation of major industries.The product development model of the traditional automotive industry has weak cost competitiveness,slow market response,long product development cycles,low product quality,and gradual decline in customer satisfaction.As industry policies and regulations change frequently and market competition trends intensify,under such circumstances,auto companies want to continue to develop for a long time,they must continue to optimize product development processes,establish rapid response to the market,focus on customer needs,low product costs,and high product quality.Product development process to develop competitive new products.This article attempts to reengineer the product development process of FAW Jiefang Automobile Co.,Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as Jiefang Company)as follows:First,the current situation and existing problems of Jiefang's existing product development process are sorted out.Conduct current situation investigation from the three stages of product development-product planning,product planning,and product development.Identify key pain points and problems.The main problems are insufficient product planning,product planning cannot guide product development,and long product development cycles.The quality cannot be guaranteed,and a cause analysis is performed to address these problems.Secondly,according to the problems and reasons,the goals and methods of product development process reengineering were clarified.Through the use of requirements management,benchmarking and other methods,the accuracy of product planning was improved;through the implementation of strategy formulation and other methods,product planning can guide research and development;Synchronous engineering,hierarchical decision-making and other methods shorten the product development cycle and improve quality.After clarifying the goals and methods,formulate a product development process reengineering solution.The product planning optimization plan mainly includes requirements management optimization,product portfolio management optimization,etc.;the product planning optimization plan includes execution strategies,etc.;the product R & D optimization plan includes project plan layering.Management,quality assurance,etc.Finally,in order to ensure the effective implementation of the solution,guarantee measures were formulated from three aspects: human resources,organizational guarantee,and technical guarantee;and through the establishment of evaluation indicators,the product development process was continuously optimized and improved to ensure the effectiveness of the new product development process.Through the research on Jiefang's core value chain,product development business flow,and reengineering the product development process,the Jiefang Company's product management system has been optimized,which also has certain reference significance for the product development process of other auto companies.
