With the gradual improvement of China’s economy and per capita income,the whole Chinese market has gradually shifted from the original focus on supply side reform to the focus of "demand side reform".The automobile industry market has also changed from the seller market,which is mainly based on the manufacturer,to the buyer market dominated by consumers.The traditional automobile product development thought receives the huge impact.At the same time,according to the guiding policy for the automobile industry issued by the national development and Reform Commission in 2018,the state plans to guide China’s automobile industry through a five-year transition period,gradually abolishing the restrictions on the share ratio of foreign capital,so as to completely put China’s automobile industry into competition with the international automobile industry.Moreover,internationally competitive automobile manufacturers,such as Volkswagen and General Motors,have adopted more modern methods of Product Development Management in their R & D management of their new products,greatly shorten the new products’ R & D cycle,continuously reduce the cost of new products’ R & D costs,and constantly enhance product competitiveness.At the same time,with the global economic downturn,the overall market demand is also declining,the internal new energy market policy continues to be positive,and the traditional market is shrinking.Chinese merchants are also improving their management and product manufacturing level through joint ventures.The internal auto market competition is more intense.Under the background of the market development trend of this industry,all automobile manufacturing enterprises have to meet the challenges,seize the opportunities and take the initiative to realize the sustainable development of enterprises and promote the continuous progress of the industry.Therefore,in order to cope with the new situation and adapt to new changes,the common problem facing the entire Chinese automobile industry is to study how to develop better and faster vehicle products to meet the needs of customers,in order to maintain their market position in the more and more intense industry market competition.This paper takes the optimization of the whole vehicle product development process of YQJF as the research object,carries out a deep research on the problems existing in the whole vehicle product development process at present,and identifies eight pain points.Moreover,combining the benchmarking analysis with the product development process of international first-class enterprises,according to the concept of business process reengineering and integrated product development,the process optimization is carried out from three aspects: product demand management,vehicle product planning and vehicle product birth,put forward to support the company’s long-term development of vehicle product development process optimization plan and specific measures to enhance the level of enterprise management and product core competitiveness.To achieve the goal of ensuring the company’s leading position in the commercial vehicle industry.
