In recent years,with the influence of policy factors such as the state's supply-side reform,increased investment in fixed assets,and the implementation of the new GB1589 standard,the market demand for heavy vehicles has gradually expanded.FAW Jiefang Automobile Co.,Ltd.seized the development opportunities in the heavy truck industry.In recent years,its operating performance has achieved rapid growth,and its industry leading position has been further consolidated.From the end of 2016 to the end of 2019,the company has achieved the industry leader for four consecutive years in heavy-duty trucks,the industry leader in medium-heavy trucks for three consecutive years,the world's first single-brand sales for two consecutive years,and the tractor industry's absolute leading performance for fourteen consecutive years..The achievement of such achievements is inseparable from FAW Jiefang's focus on product development and innovation.FAW Jiefang has the strongest R & D strength in heavy-duty vehicle products in China,with a high level of autonomy,and its key core technologies can reach the domestic leading level.In terms of products,the main model J6 firmly occupies the top position in sales of heavy truck models with its complete product line,years of mature reliability and continuously upgraded product strength.The high-end model J7 integrates the most advanced technology in the domestic heavy truck industry.To reach international level.In addition,FAW Jiefang also has strong competitiveness in cutting-edge technologies such as new energy and intelligent networking.Nonetheless,FAW Jiefang R & D still has problems such as long R & D cycles,inadequate R & D and market and production integration,weak customer awareness,self-unloading,obvious shortcomings in special product lines,and poor design versatility for a wide range of vehicle models.In order to support FAW Jiefang by 2025 to achieve the short-term goals of "double the four and four leaders" and the long-term strategic goal of becoming the "China's first and world-class" smart transportation solution provider,the market will be saturated in the future,with overcapacity and increased competition In the context of China 's development,FAW Jiefang 's heavy-duty vehicle research and development still has a long way to go.This article uses the PEST analysis method to analyze the external environment faced by FAW.Using Porter's five-force analysis model to analyze the heavy-duty vehicle product development industry environment,detailed analysis was made on five aspects of competitors,potential entrants,alternative products,customer bargaining power,and supplier bargaining power.Current external opportunities and potential threats.At the same time,the internal factor method was used to fully analyze the basic R & D capabilities and R & D support capabilities of FAW Jiefang,and determine the advantages and disadvantages of FAW Jiefang in the field of R & D.Furthermore,the SWOT analysis method was used to analyze and select the FAW Jiefang Automobile Co.,Ltd.heavy-duty vehicle product development strategy,and to determine the future five development strategies of FAW Jiefang Heavy-duty vehicle product development,namely product performance improvement strategy,independent technology development strategy,engineering category Product breakthrough strategy,shortened R & D cycle strategy and customer demand digging strategy.At the same time,during the implementation of the strategy,it is proposed to further improve the performance of existing products;accelerate the development of core technologies for key assemblies and key components;strengthen the investment in regional engineering markets to improve the level of engineering product research and development;The vehicle development cycle and designers go deep into the market,listen to market voices,understand market trends and other corresponding strategic implementation measures.In addition,it is proposed to strengthen the control of the project process system,improve the efficiency of project advancement,and reform the human resource management system to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the R & D strategy.It is hoped that through the above research,the future strategic development of FAW Jiefang's future heavy-duty vehicle product development will be pointed out,so as to support the continued leadership of FAW's heavy truck business.
