In China's highway construction,semi-rigid base asphalt pavement has always been used as the main pavement structure of the road.With the development of pavement structure types and road paving technologies,semi-rigid base asphalt pavement has been exposed to reflection cracks and water loss resistance.Poor capabilities,low durability and other shortcomings can not be ignored.Therefore,the research on the flexible base asphalt pavement began to pay attention,the flexible base can absorb and reduce the stress and strain of the crack tip of the semi-rigid base,thereby reducing the occurrence of reflective cracks,and effectively improving the overall life of the road.However,due to the low modulus of the graded Macadam base,easy permanent deformation and high process requirements,its application in engineering has been limited.As a full-depth asphalt pavement,due to the high cost of asphalt material as flexible base.It is difficult to accept in practice.The commonly used flexible base asphalt pavement structure has not been widely used.SRX(Solution Road Soilfix)polymer is a new type of polymer resin different from asphalt materials that has been popularized by international road construction projects in recent years.The polymer is soluble in water,water as a dispersion medium,and it is evenly added to the gravel-soil mixed material,and then subjected to geotechnical compaction and dry curing.Finally it forms a stable organic mucous membrane on the surface of the solid particles of the soil and rock that constitute the road structure layer,forming a strong And flexible structure layer with high toughness.This article aims at the geological conditions in the east of Henan.Using sand and gravel materials in Kaifeng area,the applicable conditions and technical characteristics of SRX polymer stabilized gravel base pavement were explored through a series of tests.Based on the CBR test indoor,the gradation composition design of SRX polymer-stabilized crushed stone was carried out,and the reasonable SRX content of SRX polymer-stabilized crushed stone was determined to be 0.5% according to the strength improvement rate and cost performance.Through the experiment,the influence of many factors such as curing conditions and curing time on the overall strength of SRX polymer stabilized crushed stone was analyzed.The road performance of SRX polymer stabilized graded Macadam mixture was evaluated from four aspects: strength characteristics,shrinkage characteristics,fatigue resistance characteristics,and water stability.Finally,according to the new version of asphalt pavement design specifications,the typical structure of SRX polymer stabilized gravel base asphalt pavement is proposed,and compared with the traditional semi-rigid base asphalt pavement structure,the economics of practical application of SRX polymer stabilized gravel base asphalt pavement are discussed.
