The semi-rigid base asphalt structure has been appeared in roads at all levels for a longtime in China.The long-term application has revealed that there are many serious road diseases in the semi-rigid base pavement structure,such as rutting,reflective cracks,and mud.Research on pavement diseases is in trouble.Roads using mainstream pavement structures have been unable to avoid common diseases such as reflective cracks.Road experts have found that flexible base asphalt pavement structures can effectively prevent the occurrence of common pavement diseases,but also found that flexible base asphalt structures are.It will consume a lot of asphalt materials during construction,The excessively high construction cost restricts the popularization and application of the flexible base asphalt pavement structure.Therefore,an inexpensive base material that meets the performance requirements required by the state is needed to flexible base asphalt pavement structure.Water-based organic polymer(SRX)is a new type of polymer resin polymer material.With the help of water,SRX polymer is evenly dispersed into the base stabilizing material.In the process of compaction and water evaporation,SRX stabilizes the surface of the material to form an organic mucous membrane of clay particles.The SRX stable material is a flexible material.It can be seen from the road performance test that the SRX stable material is a loose material and it is similar to graded crushed stone in pavement performance.But its strength and modulus are higher than the grade crushed stone.The SRX stable materialis can make the flexible base structure stronger in bearing capacity and better effect.The material can reduce the thickness of the asphalt layer and reduce the construction cost.Hydro-static organic polymer SRX stabilized macadam was formed by static compaction method and the mechanism of strength growth was studied.The results show that the strength of SRX stabilized macadam is related to SRX content and health time.The compressive strength gradually increased when SRX content increases from 0.5% to At 1.5%.With the increase of the curing time,the compressive strength and the CBR of California increased continuously.The compressive strength reached 2.4MPa and the CBR reached 458.28%.However,the CBR showed a decline when the SRX content was increased to 1.5%.The shrinkage performance of SRX stabilized macadam was studied by dry shrinkage and temperature shrinkage experiments.The results show that the dry shrinkage coefficient ofSRX stabilized macadam reach between 5.05~11.4 × 10-5 and the temperature shrinkage coefficient reach between 2.99 ~ 4.73 × 10-6.During the period,it shows good shrinkage resistance.The high-temperature stability of SRX stabilized crushed stone was studied by rutting test.The results show that SRX stabilized crushed stone exhibits good resistance to rutting.Through five freeze-thaw cycles,the water damage resistance of SRX stabilized crushed stone was studied.The results show that SRX stabilized crushed stone has good resistance to water damage and is suitable for seasonally frozen areas.In this study,three typical structures of SRX stabilized gravel flexible roads were proposed.Based on the Shandong Yantai Yeshui Line Project,the flexible base asphalt pavement structure was designed.Based on the combination of typical pavement structures,the SRX stabilized gravel was completed on the basis of the Yeshui Line test Testing and evaluation of physical engineering.This study shows that SRX stabilized gravel can effectively prevent road reflection cracks,rutting and other problems and has the value of promotion and application.
