As China's urbanization process speeds up,the urban-rural gap also increases. In order to make up for the problem of lagging rural development as soon as possible, after the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party proposed "Village Revitalization",the rural economic construction and the construction of human settlements are changing with each passing day.In the process of rapid construction, the village blindly copied the urban construction model and lifestyle due to the yearning for urban life, resulting in vivid and unique residential courtyards that were gradually simplified into low-end townhouses.Due to the lack of comprehensive consideration of the living habits, production needs, neighborhood relations, and other factors in the village, the originally pleasant living culture and living habits in the village are gradually lost. After many investigations and investigations, the author understands that there is a big misalignment between the demands of decision-makers and builders and the wishes of the villagers. The important reason is that the builders neither understand nor understand the villages. Therefore, they can only be copied to the countryside in accordance with the usual construction methods in cities. Can Chinese villages find a way of building that can not only follow certain traditions, respect rural folklore, but also look to the future and conform to a better lifestyle? This is where I started thinking. In 2000 AD,the Chinese version of "Things" by the German Sinologist Lothar Ledderose(Lothar Ledderose)was published.Looking back in history,China has had modular thoughts for a long time."Explain Word" records "Water Saying Method,Wood Saying Pattern,Soil Saying Pattern, metal is module, bamboo is module",which fully reflects the idea of modular in Widely used in various production fields in ancientChina.Whether it is type printing, architecture, courtyards, porcelain,or terracotta warriors, everything about mass production in China is related to modular ideas.Modular design is born out of modular ideas, and it is a design method from small to big and simple to complex.Through the creation of basic modular units,a multilevel combination is carried out in a certain order, thereby generating a modular design method with integrity and systems, which lays the foundation for integral construction design and industrial prefabricated production. As a basic component in the rural settlement system, the courtyard is the most daily living space for villagers. How to use modular design to explore a new way of thinking for the development of rural construction in China based on inheriting the original features and living customs of the village has become the focus of this study. From the perspective of modular design, this paper takes Jingang Village,Geleshan Town,Chongqing City as the actual environmental object, excavates the combination method, internal construction ideas, and formal logic in rural courtyard spaces, and summarizes the application rules of modularization.Combined with the living habits, production models and neighborhood relations of the rural courtyard space,a new community model more suitable for the needs of villagers is formed, and a modular design method for the future rural courtyard construction is explored to explore a possibility for the construction of a rural residential environment.
