Research On The Design Strategy Of Rural Modular Housing Based On The Spatial Characteristics Of "Production-Living-Ecology"

Most of the traditional Chinese villages were built spontaneously based on the actual needs of farmers,and contained the spatial characteristics of "production,living and ecology"（PLE）,forming a housing system with flexibility,diversity and sustainability.However,this characteristic has not been continued in the current process of promoting the implementation of the housing industry.Instead,the design and construction mode of urban housing is more standardized,revealing problems such as low participation of farmers,poor design quality,low construction efficiency and high resource consumption.The rural revitalization strategy and related policies point out that the construction of green housings needs to be an important part of the improvement of rural habitat environment,and the emerging means represented by modular design method,assembly-type building technology and intelligent integration concept have gradually become the key driving force for the conversion of new and old dynamics in the construction industry.Therefore,the design and construction mode of new rural residential construction should be gradually optimized based on the full consideration of the actual development of rural areas.First of all,through the integration of theories and practices related to modular design,the design methods and patterns applicable to the field of architecture are explored,and the main points of the research on modular design of rural housing will be clarified.Secondly,typical cases are analyzed and interpreted for the three important trends of demand translation,integrated construction and platform integration,the challenges faced by residential modular design are summarized,and corresponding design countermeasures are proposed with the national conditions and characteristics of rural housing industry in China.Finally,the general idea of modular design for rural housing is proposed,the design strategy of collaborating demand,production and platform is sorted out,and the inner connection between "modularity" and the PLE spatial characteristics of new rural housing is analyzed,which provides reference for the development of rural housing design towards the goal of quality,green and intelligent.The thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter 1 provides a relevant review of the literature on "modular design for rural housing",clarifying the significance,identifying the concepts,defining the scope,and formulating the framework and technical lines of research.Chapter 2compares the concepts,theories and methods related to modular design and modular design of buildings,reviews the relevant theories and development history of residential modular design,distills the current problems and summarizes the development trend.Chapter 3 analyzes domestic and international residential modular design cases,summarizes the elements and characteristics of international residential modular design based on the coupling mechanism between design and demand,production and platform,further summarizes the emerging development direction of residential modular design,and puts forward the challenges and countermeasures to solve them.In chapter 4,the general idea and strategy of modular design of rural housing are proposed in the context of the current situation of rural residential construction in Shandong Province.Firstly,the matching relationship between the spatial characteristics of PLE and the housing demands of farmers’ families is analyzed,and the design rules and scheme derivation logic associated with them are established by means of shape grammar.Secondly,principles and key steps for the construction of a modular system for rural housing are presented,and the prototype of the housing design is built based on dimensional analysis and modal definition,clarifying the vertical affiliation and horizontal combination between modules.Thirdly,based on the current situation of the residential industry and the countryside,the feasibility of the design system and strategy proposed in the previous article is demonstrated.Chapter 5 provides an insightful summary of the theoretical overview,case analysis,strategy refinement,and research design in the whole text,points out the research shortcomings,and provides an outlook on the subsequent development trend of modular design for rural housing.The thesis has the following innovative points.Firstly,in the field of rural housing construction,modularity theory and method are introduced and its research scope is expanded,which achieves the integration and deepening of the existing theories and provides theoretical reference and practical reference for the current rural housing towards sustainable development,improving overall quality and optimizing industrial structure.Furthermore,the correlation mechanism between rural housing "modules" and the spatial characteristics of PLE is clarified,the housing modular design method that can match the type and stage of farmers’ residential demands is proposed,and the integrated,hierarchical,flexible and variable housing modular system is constructed.Lastly,with the help of computational design methods,assembly-type production technology,and information-based collaborative thinking,the overall idea and strategy system of rural housing modular design is proposed to help improve the overall quality of rural habitat,enhance the overall operational efficiency of the housing industry,and promote the transformation of the construction industry.
