Research On Graduates' Career Development In Road And Bridge Major Of Technician College

Emerged in the 1990 s,technician college is the highest level of technicians institute,which bears the heavy responsibility of training high skilled talents for China.With the implementation of promoting manufacturing power strategy in an all-round way in China,the growth of high-skilled talents and their career development have gradually becoming a focus issue of the government,society,colleges and family,etc.Based on the graduates majoring in 2007 Road and Bridge of Z Institute,this study made a questionnaire survey on the status of career development of 107 graduates,and went deep into schools and enterprises to have interviews with graduates,teachers and relevant personnel in enterprises,covering graduates' professional identity,working conditions,professional correspondence,professional ability and quality,professional and social integration,and career development prospects,etc.According to the analysis of the present situation,we have learned the main causes for the dilemma in the process of career development,and explored the strategies to promote the career development of graduates majoring in Road and Bridge in technician institutes from levels of governments,enterprises and schools.The study considers that:First,the overall professional development of graduates majoring in Road and Bridge in technician institutes was better,but there were obvious deficiencies,which mainly manifested that the ability for innovation urgently needed to be improved,job jobs changed frequently and career prospects are mediocre.Second,The Road and Bridge major graduates of technician college have a clear understanding of themselves,and have been a certain development in enterprises in recent years,most of them have become the backbone of technology and core force,but there have been still difficulties in the aspects of social value identity,overall planning of enterprises,pathways to school development and personal long-term consideration.Third,according to the analysis,we found that the causes of the difficulties in career development of graduates majoring in Road and Bridge in technician instituteswere mainly that the low status of Road and Bridge professionals,the imperfect growth mechanism of road and Bridge technicians,personnel training lags behind the development of transportation industry and the driving force of students' personal development is relatively weak.Fourth,in view of the current situation and difficulties of career development of graduates majoring in Road and Bridge in technician institutes,governments should increase the policy control on the development of technician institutes and strengthen policy support,to create a good space for their career development;Enterprises should build a career development system for skilled personnel,establish the concept of development of craftsmen in the transportation industry,and open up dual career development channels for Road and Bridge technicians;The technician college should optimize the talent training program of Road and Bridge specialty,promote the reform of curriculum system,technician training,teaching resources and teaching evaluation,and improve the quality of talent training.
