Research And Practice Of Design For Poverty Alleviation Based On ICH Innovation Of The Gelo

The Gelo ethnic group is an ancient tribe located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau of China.Gelo people have created its long-standing and distinctive ethnic culture through the long history.Most of the ethnic culture has been included in China's intangible cultural heritage list,which indicates that the ethnic culture of Gelo people has its unique artistic value.However,most of Gelo people live by deep mountains of Yunnan province and Guizhou province with a relatively insufficient productive life,bringing much more troubles to the spread and development of its traditional culture.The thesis is mainly based on a great background of national rural revitalization and poverty alleviation with design,responding to the call of "cultural poverty reduction" proposed by the Chinese Ministry of Culture.Intangible cultural heritage(ICH),as a form of cultural expression,should exert its unique cultural significance and value in poverty alleviation.The author explores the local customs and intangible cultural heritage of the Gelo villages while investigating the causes of poverty among the Gelo ethnic groups.Through the collation and research of these primary materials and resources,the thesis combs out the design of poverty alleviation path for Gelo people based on integrated development and utilization of ICH resources such as building a Gelo ICH resource integration platform,promoting tourism industry upgrade by revitalizing the ICH traditional opera,developing cultural products,creating ICH workshops,building online stores,etc.At the same time,the thesis studies how to combine Gelo traditional cultural elements with modern design,and obtains three design methods of transforming intangible cultural heritage to cultural and creative products.Based on the theoretical results of the above research,the thesis designs the integration platform of the Gelo intangible cultural heritage resources--an online We Chat mini program named “Ge Wu Zhi”,which provides a certain theoretical and practical reference to design poverty alleviation of the Gelo and design and revitalization of villages.
