| As a thousand-year-old capital,Beijing has witnessed the vicissitudes of history and accumulated valuable cultural heritage.How to protect the historical features of the ancient capital,continue the historical context of the city,and at the same time actually improve the living environment of the residents has always been a huge challenge for the urban development of Beijing.The streets and alleys,as the basic unit of Beijing’s urban construction,are not only a testimony to the culture of the ancient capital,but also a concentrated reflection of the city’s traditional features.After the reform and opening up,Beijing’s city image has changed rapidly.However,under the past construction ideas that emphasized efficiency and economy,the phenomenon of assimilation of urban features has become serious,and a large number of streets and alleys forming a unique charm of the city have gradually disappeared.With the further development of the concept of protection and reuse of historical and cultural resources,the exploration and improvement of urban connotation and quality has gradually become the core content of urban construction.To effectively continue the historical context and characteristics of Beijing streets and alleys,and further improve its environmental quality,still need to be systematically sorted out and summarized.Aiming at the above problems,this article takes Beijing streets and alleys as the research object,and tries to explore the current background of the increasingly demanding environmental quality through the literature research,current situation investigation,and design practice experience in the Hsiangshan Maimai Street environmental improvement project.The strategic method and working path to improve the living quality are both mainly discussed. |
