The communication between China and foreign countries in the southern and northern dynasties led to the great change of decorative patterns.The plant patterns represented by the honeysuckle patterns from the west replaced the traditional animal and fairyland patterns since the war and han dynasty and became the mainstream of decoration,especially in the buddhist grottoes and statues.From the perspective of time and space,the shape and structure of buddhist honeysuckle decoration and the underlying social and cultural driving force are worth exploring.The xiangtangshan grottoes in northern qi are the representative of the mature stage of honeysuckle pattern.The early and most basic honeysuckle pattern is based on the corrugated branches and tendrils,with three(or more)rolled leaves on traditional ornamentation in modern landscape is often a simple copy of the "body style",which often results in a landscape space with no god shape and duplicity.Sequence in this paper,in the period of the northern dynasties honeysuckle pattern development were discussed,especially for our province ring hall mountain grottoes honeysuckle lines mainly into the cultural connotations of interpretation,on the basis of in honeysuckle lines for inspiration,to refine,deformation,split,reorganization,use of modern materials and technique to endow them with new value,the traditional culture pattern genes into modern landscape design,finishing the design of an urban waterfront landscape space.In the design case,the author tries to find a way to combine traditional decoration with modern landscape,which provides a new idea for the regional and cultural design of modern landscape space.
