Projects Application Research In EPC Projects Collaborative Management With BIM

Building information modeling(BIM)technology is digital transformation of the construction industry and process based on information technology.It simplifies the difficulty of the frontline construction practitioners on understanding the construction data and information which documented in two-dimensional.With three-dimensional model,the construction practitioners can realizes the design and construction processes virtually which greatly improve the efficiency.Engineering,Procurement and Construction(EPC)contracting model integrates design,procurement and construction into a single contract which provide a framework for total project management.The EPC strengthens the connection between different stages of the project,can achieve better communication,reduce errors due to poor communication.The construction companies adopt EPC can improve the quality of the project,speed up the construction processes,and reduce the total construction cost,thereby helping the company to improve the competitive advantages.How to break through the communication barriers between design and construction? How to advance the requirements of the construction stage to the design stage for consideration? BIM definitely will be a good choice to integrate and to improve the overall management efficiency,and the communication efficiency at all stages.This article carried out the system architectural design,platform design and application design of collaborative EPC platform based on BIM technology.It is aimed to summarizing the applications and values of BIM in EPC projects.It also analysis of the problems existed in order to promote the application of BIM in EPC projects.Taking the EPC project in Shenzhen as an example,it explains how this research can help project managers in simulating nonsystemic risks in advance and to avoid predictable risks as early as possible.It also explained how the project management can speed up the process,improve project quality,and better document quality with BIM.This article focuses on the following issues: 1.How to improve the level of management integration and collaboration is a key issue to achieve the management goals of the EPC model.2.The development and application of the collaborative management platform based on BIM technology is the key method to solve the collaborative management of EPC.3.This research carried out the system design,platform development and application scheme design of different stages of EPC management collaborative platform based on BIM technology.4.Through case study,the research results can solve the main problems of EPC management and have achieved good application results.
