Cruise tourism originated in Europe and matured in North America.Currently, the global cruise market maintains a steady growth trend, while the Asia-Pacific region and China are the most potential sectors in the world.Cruise home port and surrounding area is an important space carrier for the development of cruise industry. However, there are a series of space construction problems in the domestic cruise home port area, and the global response to the novel coronavirus epidemic of cruise ships is also insufficient. Therefore, the spatial organization model and optimization strategies of the cruise home port area are in urgently needed to be discussed. From the perspective of actual needs and research shortages, this paper establishes a research indicator system, proposes innovative research theories, and supplements and updates the current academic research content of domestic cruise home ports.Meanwhile, the models and strategies obtained by induction also have practical application value.First of all, this paper starts from the space needs of cruise tourists and the location requirements of cruise home port, clarifies the factors that the space organization model research needs to pay attention to,and summarizes the current research results and deficiencies.Secondly,16 domestic and foreign cases in different regions of the world are selected, meanwhile a preliminary spatial element index system is constructed, and the final spatial element index system is determined by expert scoring method and expert consultation method. And then, the different elements of the space organization model of the cruise home port and surrounding area are studied in detail, including systematic analysis and model induction of spatial layout organization, service facility configuration, transportation mode connection, and establish model evaluation system.Next, the space organization model is applied to 4 developing and 1 planning cruise home port areas in China, combined with site feature and upper planning,a series of space optimization suggestions are put forward and summarized from the aspects of route development, space layout organization, service facilities configuration, transportation mode connection and development timing,as a reference for construction. Finally, the space optimization strategy of disaster prevention and evacuation in the cruise home port area is supplemented from the aspects of location layout, spatial organization, facility configuration, traffic organization, landscape sketch, port streamline and so on,aiming at coping with and preventing future sudden disasters. The spatial organization mode of each cruise home port area has similarities and differences; The spatial layout organization is divided into different types according to the positional relationship between the port area and the main urban area, the surrounding waters and land areas, meanwhile the internal spatial structure is also more diverse; The configuration of service facilities must not only consider the convenience, safety and diversity of use,but also pay attention to the uniqueness of natural landscapes and cultural tourism resources; The transportation mode connection system should be based on public transportation, taking into account other diversified transportation needs, and improve the accessibility of the road network.Compared with Europe and the United States, most of the domestic home port cities do not rely on the coastal development. Therefore, the ports are generally located far away from the main urban area, and the onshore facilities are usually not fully constructed. However, the advantage of domestic development lies in that it can lead to the development and transformation of the region by creating a "cruise home port city".
