At present,with the maturity and wide application of science and technology,the products are changing with each passing day.The ability of developing new product has increasingly become one of the core competitiveness of enterprises.Company C is an ODM vacuum cleaner manufacturing and sales enterprise whose products are exported to Europe and the United States market.All along,relying on the strong product development ability and stable product quality,it attracts customers and maintains orders.However,recently,affected by Sino-U.S.trade policy,exchange rate,international commodities and labor cost fluctuations,customers request price reduction,orders fluctuate and the company is under pressure to move forward.Company C wants to get better development,in addition to maintaining good customers and doing a good job in service,the most important thing is to continue to improve their product development ability and use more and better products to seize customers.Of course,the improvement of product development ability is not only the improvement of technical ability(not in the scope of this study and discussion),but also the improvement of management ability of product development.In this paper,new product development theory,cross functional organizational structure,gate management system,product life cycle management,TOPSIS methodology and other related theoretical knowledge are used to analyze the new product development management of company C,combined with literature induction,flow chart analysis and other research methods,and the specific problems and improvement countermeasures faced by the product development of company C are put forward.Through the research and analysis of this paper,the main conclusions are as follows:1.There are several main problems in the new product development of company C: unreasonable organizational structure of new product development,uneven distribution of resources;poor control of new product development process,delayed progress;unscientific knowledge management of new product development,affecting development efficiency;unsatisfactory selection and introduction of new product development suppliers,affecting development quality.2.The reasons which contribute to these problems are multifaceted.The main reasons are: there are inherent contradictions between the overall functional organizational structure and the weak matrix organizational structure of new product development currently adopted by company C;the new product development tasks are not well decomposed and there is a lack of effective auditing mechanism;there is a lack of a complete workflow and data information sharing platform;there is a lack of a set of reasonable judgment and evaluation system for supplier selection.3.In view of the above problems and reasons,the countermeasures to be taken are: adopting cross functional organizational structure of new product development,ensuring the resources of new product development and smothering horizontal communication;adopting the gate management system,effectively decomposing and refining various tasks and indicators,and establishing the gate auditing mechanism;adopting product life cycle management,making full use of the existing operating system and platform of company C,Windchill and establishing the company C 's new product development knowledge base and the demand change workflow;through each data and the indicator(the dimension)collection of the supplier,uses the TOPSIS method to carry on the computation and the transformation to each data,obtains the quantification indicator,evaluates and screens each supplier,finally selects qualified supplier of the company C new product development benefit.I hope that through sorting out these key issues,we can really improve the product development ability of company C,do a good job in the fierce market competition,and firmly grasp customers and orders.What is more important is continuous improvement in the future.Only continuous practice and improvement can make the enterprise go further and better.
