| Bus stops,as an important urban public transport facility,are places where buses stop on the bus route and passengers get on and off the bus safely.Most of the bus stations located in the old city are no longer suitable for the current complex traffic environment because of the old construction age,great changes in road environment and sharp increase in surface traffic.The lack of maintenance and incompetent ancillary facilities cannot satisfy citizens pursuit for high-quality bus stations.The previous studies on bus stops most focus on regional traffic behavior and enhancement of ancillary facilities at bus stops,and are lack of systematic improvement of bus stops in the old city.Based on the above background,in this paper bus stops in old town of Beijing and the road space were taken as the research object.First,its development was stagewise combed,and combined with the large data,the distribution characteristics of current bus stops in Beijing old town were analyzed in space and type,to explore the influence of historical pattern and road construction in Beijing old town on the overall layout of bus stops.Second,the present situation of bus stops in Beijing old town was investigated,and according to road types of the Beijing old town,48 typical samples were selected,detailedly recording the type,size,traffic streamline,ancillary facilities and surrounding street furniture,and according to the research contents,five existing problems were listed,such as insufficient waiting space,frequent interweaving between people and traffic lines,auxiliary facilities to be improved,and difficulty in popularizing intelligent transportation facilities.Finally,the optimization design strategy for the spatial environment of Beijing bus stops was put forward,with hierarchical optimization as regards the problems;bus stop types was taken as the breakthrough point,the types most fit road environment was chosen,and bus stop area traffic flows were coordinated to avoid potential traffic conflicts,and reasonable bus stop width was designed,and the ancillary facilities were improved from modular,intelligent,generalizing aspects,and bus stops and the adjacent street furniture were integrated to optimize the environment of the surrounding roads.Through the above research,a set of systematic optimization methods for bus stops in the old town of Beijing was developed.The traditional bus stops did not consider coordination optimization between bus stops and city road space,and also there was lack of a systematic,hierarchical optimization design methods.In this paper,the research on the optimization of bus stop space environment of the Beijing old town,was expected to provide the design strategy to transformation and upgrade of the old town of Beijing,and provide some ideas and methods to bus stop optimization andpromotion in the old towns of other cities. |
