With the development of the global economy and the innovation of science and technology,the power system has undergone tremendous changes and improvements.Intelligent power grid has become the inevitable trend of future power system development.As a metering terminal unit in the construction of National Smart grid,the development of smart meter is very important.This paper first gives a brief description of the development background of smart meter,further introduces the standard formulation and updating of smart meter in the State Grid,and briefly describes and analyses the operation status,market scale and development prospects of smart meter at home and abroad.Referring to the enterprise standards and communication protocols of the series of smart meters issued by the State Grid Corporation,this paper determines the performance and functional requirements of the smart meters,and gives the schematic diagram and software architecture of the smart meter system.The microprocessor of SOC scheme,which integrates LCD driver and hardware clock,cooperates with other components to complete the functions of communication,storage,LCD display and abnormal detection of power supply.Select high precision,high reliability dedicated energy measurement chip with current and voltage sampling devices to complete the design of power measurement part.A low power switching power supply chip is selected to design the power supply circuit of the system.Modular design is adopted in the hardware and software systems of smart meters,which is conducive to reducing the development cycle of products,facilitating the maintenance of software and hardware of products and the iteration and upgrading of later products.After completing the hardware and software design of the smart meter,the performance test and functional verification of the smart meter are carried out.The actual test results show that the single-phase smart meter designed has stable performance,reliable performance,strong anti-interference ability and better measurement error accuracy than the standard requirements.It meets the relevant smart meter standards of the State Grid,meets the market demand of domestic smart meters,and has high market value and broad application prospects.
