At present, smart grid as the object of research in the world. Under this background of the topic, designed a kind of application of smart grid in the new smart meters to deal with smart grid proposed various technical requirements.This topic first analyzed the research status of smart meter at home and abroad, on this basis, put forward the overall design scheme of new type of smart meters: adopt the stmicroelectronics company STM32F103VET6 single-chip microcomputer as the main MCU,special metering chip ADE7878 ADE company as a centre for data collection and to achieve the collection of electricity data algorithm processing, as well as key, display, the control and management of external interface. This design is obtained by sampling current, voltage transformer transient voltage and current, then input to the dedicated metering chip, using chip computing functions available within the power parameters, the results send MCU processing and display, and finally transmitted to PC by communication module, power quality detection and remote meter reading function. New intelligent electric meter is divided into hardware design and software design of two parts, the hardware design part of the master control module selects the high performance low power consumption microprocessor STM32F103VET6 microcontroller, DS1302 chip for the real time clock chip, and combining with metering chip ADE7878 grid parameters acquisition and processing circuit design,selection and real time clock, power supply, memory, realizes the electric energy information in time to save storage and interaction. Software design part puts forward the modular design idea, the new intelligent electric meter has the function of the is divided into different modules, and the different module programming, implement the power quality detection, and based on new type smart meters far copy function required to process design, using the main program and subroutines that form of modular programming, reduce the redundancy procedure between, to enhance the readability and maintainability of software system.Finally, an experiment was carried out on the new smart meter system debugging, the experiment results show that in the range of allowable error, this topic designed new intelligent table can realize power quality detection and remote meter reading function, the combination with high precision metering chip microprocessor STM32 is feasible and has certain practical value.
