In recent years,with the rapid development of national economy,the improvement of people’s living standard and the progress of science and technology,the modernization of agricultural production has been gradually realized,the peasants’ life has been improved effectively,and the quality of life of farmers has been improved.Traditional farming-based residential life can not adapt to the production and life style of contemporary people.The form of residential architecture is the most intuitive embodiment and bearing capacity of local culture.Its formation,development and evolution are closely related to the production and life style,folk customs and customs under the influence of the physical and geographical environment characteristics of the region in which it is located,and it has strong regional characteristics and local flavor.Over time,building material selection Technological innovation and architectural ideas are influenced by globalization,various cultural trends of thought impact people’s lives,people blindly accept,absorb foreign advanced ideas,but ignore their own local culture.From the perspective of local culture protection,this paper studies the architectural design of new dwellings in Henan Xinxiang Weihui village,taking traditional farming-type dwellings as a typical example.First of all,it explains the existing situation of the local traditional dwellings,the influence of the spatial form and the regional character in an all-round and clear way.To investigate and summarize the characteristics of traditional residential architecture culture,to understand the preservation of traditional residential architecture,to analyze the regional factors that influence the formation of traditional residential architecture;In the process of heritage and protection of traditional residential architecture culture,the reasons of external and internal influence are summarized and analyzed,and the root causes of problems in residential construction are analyzed.Thirdly,the local culture is used in the construction of new residential buildings.In the process of constructing new dwelling houses,it takes its essence to remove its dross,improves people’s cultural cognition,strengthens people’s consciousness of local culture,and analyzes how to inherit and carry forward the cultural space of traditional residential buildings.In the process of inheriting and protecting the local culture,how to achieve the coexistence of the new and old residential buildings is explained.Finally,in the construction of the space of the new residential buildings,the protection and inheritance ofthe local culture are actually studied.In the construction of new dwellings,it is necessary to integrate the local physical and geographical environment,humanistic environment and social and cultural environment,and to extract and innovate the architectural language symbols of traditional dwellings.Combined with the actual villages,this paper discusses the concrete implementation methods in the construction of new dwellings,sums up the experience for the protection of local culture,and makes theoretical thinking for the inheritance and development of regional residential architecture culture.Therefore,in the face of the gradual decline and disappearance of the local residential architectural culture,the study of the cultural characteristics of traditional residential architecture,according to the current living environment of people to solve the shortcomings of traditional residential buildings,to create in line with the actual needs of the contemporary.It is of great significance to inherit and protect the architectural culture of traditional dwellings in the construction of new dwellings,which has the characteristics of times and regions.
