Villages are the first form of human settlement. The diversified ethnic distribution makes the village morphology in Yunnan present diversified characteristics. As one of the physical carriers of Yi culture,Yi villages project the essence of ancient and complete Yi primitive architectural culture.Meanwhile, these Yi architectural entities in turn provide evidence for the influence of this root cause. With the development of society and the effect of many factors, the village space has changed, which is called the change of village form.By studying the constituent elements of village form and its vicissitudes and development process,it is helpful to excavate its protection value,so as to better inherit the national architectural culture.Yaniba Village is located in E'shan which has always been the inhabited area of the Yi people. Its unique spatial form of villages and distinctive folk culture are ideal models for studying the changing factors of village morphology. In addition, the process of ethnic integration after the Han immigration makes the village form more diverse. In recent years, especially in the context of rural revitalization, the village morphology has further changed. In order to explore the factors affecting the change of village morphology, the paper intends to record the spatial state and villagers' living state of Yaniba village through literature reading, field survey and mapping in order to restore the current social life picture of the village. This thesis makes a comparative analysis of the research done by the tutor 20 years ago,and summarizes the phenomena of spatial change.By summarizing the development history of the construction activities of the Yi nationality, this thesis explores the natural and social factors affecting the change of village morphology and describes the influence of living habits, communication habits, agricultural production relations and other factors on the change of village morphology in Yaniba village.Through the analysis of these forms, public space, street space, courtyard space and human behavior in these spaces,we can excavate the hidden change factors behind them. This thesis attempts to consider the methods and strategies of space protection, renewal and activation of Yaniba village from three aspects: historical value, ecological and humanistic value and construction of technological value.
