Supplier Quality Management Study On Power Plant EPC Project Based On FTA WBS Method

With the development of economic globalization,manufacturers of Chinese power plant equipment have been shifting their business form from producing-selling mode to EPC(Engineering-Procurement-Construction)project mode.The EPC contractors are only focus on the main equipment and project management,and subcontract the other services like design,civil and erection,also the material and auxiliary equipment.Under this mode,the EPC contractor will take the responsibility to the owner on behalf of all the subcontractors based on the quality of the whole project.So that conducting the supplier quality management in each stage of the project will become the key factor of whether the project can be completed successfully.This article is mainly studied on the supplier quality management of environmental-protection power plant EPC projects under construction in company H.Break down the structure of the project thorough WBS,and based on the industrial characteristics of power plant project and the problems on supplier quality management occur in company H now,analyzing the main supplier quality defects exactly and quantitatively which may cause the project quality issues by using fault tree analysis on the project.According these defects,coding and optimizing the related tasks of supplier quality management through work breakdown structure,we can get the project supplier quality management method on the main suppliers in environmental-protection power plant EPC project of company H.Through this method,we can put the limited control ability of project management to the main control points affecting the project quality controlling and improve the effectiveness of project supplier quality management.By practical application on supplier quality management of the biomass power plant project C,the feasibility and effectiveness of this new method was proven and provided the reference for company H on supplier quality management of E.P.power plant project.
