The transformation of squatter settlements is an important task that has been faced in the process of rapid urbanization since the reform and opening up.In order to restore the dynamism of the squatter settlements in urban development,conform to the laws and organically renew,the squatter settlements must be transformed.At the same time,the transformation of the squatter settlements will also help to save and use the land and make overall plans for the development of urban and rural land.Therefore,how to accurately understand the transformation of squatter settlements and handle related issues in the transformation process has become an important research topic that must be faced in the current planning work.The planning and design is an important part of squatter settlements reconstruction.It has become a key area of research in recent years.The planning and design of squatter settlements has been centered on humans.Through the effective integration of space and material and society,the overall image of the city has been promoted and cities have been realized sustainable development.Based on relevant theoretical studies and practical examples,this paper uses the reconstruction of squatter settlements in the Harbin Xinyi region as an example.First,starting from the research background,the relevant domestic and foreign researches are reviewed,combined with multi-disciplinary correlations such as urban organic renewal,urban design,and behavioral psychology.Theory,using literature survey methods,case analysis methods,field investigation methods,and theoretical deduction methods,systematically interpreting the research on shantytown reconstruction theory at home and abroad,and analyzing the problems related to reconstruction of shanty towns and putting forward squatter settlements The research content of planning and design includes the improvement of regional functional upgrading and positioning,the transformation of the life style of the indigenous residents in the region,the enhancement of regional transportation system functions,the improvement of the overall construction of public services,and the integration of special applicable technical points,which provides the theoretical basis for the study of the thesis.Secondly,using the empirical analysis method,we conducted an in-depth investigation and analysis of the status quo of the squatter settlements in the Harbin New Area,and analyzed the background,causes,and characteristics of the reconstruction of the squatter settlements in the New Area,including the formation reasons,architectural features,and environmental features of the shanty towns.Population characteristics and infrastructure characteristics,analysis of the status quo of construction land,status of traffic system and status quo of demolished houses in the transformation of squatter settlements in the new area.Through survey questionnaires for resettlement residents,the problems existing in the reconstruction of squatter settlements in the new area were summarized,which provided a reference for the planning and design of shanty towns in the new area.Finally,based on a case study of the reform and development of the squatter settlements in the area,a study was made of the planning and design principles,concepts,and goal orientation of the squatter settlements in the new area,from the overall layout of the land use layout,the renewal of regional functions,the improvement of the transportation system,and the construction of the landscape environment image.Five aspects of ecological environment construction specifically plan and design squatter settlements in the new area,And put forward reform policy measures.
