China's aging population is in the critical period of accelerated development. The demand for old-age care for the elderly has changed significantly, and the structural contradiction of the supply side of old-age services has become increasingly prominent. As an important part of the pension mode, institu tional pension is also in constant construction and development. As the core area with the highest utilization rate and the largest usage area for the elderly, the living space of the old-age institutions has been given much more significance besides meeti ng the needs of sleep function. The starting point of this paper is how to scientifically and effectively tap the positive factors in the behavior and psychological activities of the elderly, and create a living space environment beneficial to the positive psychology and behavior of the elderly,so as to promote the construction and development of the living space of the old-age institutions. At present, the academic research on the living space of old-age institutions has not formed a systematic and complete theoretical system, and the living space of some old-age institutions can not really meet the living needs and psychological characteristics of the elderly. The living space design of most old-age institutions lacks the enthusiasm for the activities of the elderly and the work of nursing staff.Efficiency considerations. Therefore,as one of the key reforms in the 13 th Five-Year Plan for the development of the national ageing cause and the construction of the old-age pension system,it is of great significance for the design and research of the living space of the old-age institutions. This paper mainly divided into four parts.Firstly, through the study of all kinds of relevant literature, the paper defines the basic concepts, research scope and research methods of positive psychology, life behavior of the elderly and the living space of the old-age institutions, and explores the endowment opportunities in China with the interpretation. The status quo of the development of housing space.Secondly, this paper makes an in-depth study on the content of constructing the positive psychology of the elderly in the relevant research of positive psychology, mainly including three aspects: the elderly positive emotional experience, the elderly subjective well-being and elderly self-esteem,and puts forward the concept of positive psychological space.Thirdly, the author has formulated a targeted research scheme, and made a survey on the living conditions of the elderly with different physical and mental functions in urban old-age institutions in China from the aspects of life and rest, behavior content and spatial distribution, and sorted out and analyzed the survey data, and studied them from the perspective of positive psychology. The "positive" level of behavior patterns of the elderly in old-age care institutions. Finally,on the basis of the previous research, this paper puts forward the design principles of the living room space of the old-age institutions based on the positive psychology of the elderly, and discusses the concrete design methods from three aspects: the design of the functional space of the living room, the organization of the moving line and the space atmosphere. In the new period, the new requirement of advancing the construction of livable environment for the aged will inevitably bring about the new demand of the construction of the living space of the old-age institutions. On the basis of studying the basic living needs of the elderly, this paper puts forward a higher-level design method to meet the positive psychology of the elderly. It has theoretical and practical significance for the construction and development of the living space of the pension institution.
