Research On Vehicle Routing Problem Of Inbound Logistics For Car Maker

Logistics,as connection joint within car manufactory system,is abstracting more and more focus in recent years.Among all the logistic costs,inbound logistics(i.e.transport and administration between component supplier and car maker‘s plant or its warehouse;transport and administration between car maker‘s warehouse and its production line is usually named ?in-plant delivery‘ which will be excluded from this thesis)is always the biggest one,so as to get most of expectations and focus.The characteristic of inbound logistics is a number of component suppliers.Car makers think that transport service of ?frequent,small-scale and quick response‘ will support lean manufactory mostly.Yet this mode of transport service requires high administration skills.Administration failure will cause either increase in transport cost or impact(or even stop)production in huge losses.The thesis is aiming to such optimal solution in cost perspective,with production-oriented prerequisite,by the research on vehicle routing problem(VRP)and by the application into car maker‘s inbound logistics.Basing on the summary of characteristics of inbound logistics,milk-run mode will be raised.The comparison,including PROS & CONS and working scope,between traditional transport mode and milk-run mode will be done subsequently.The solution will be planned basing on milk-run rules and the characteristics of inbound logistics: setup model with ?X‘ that will impact milk-run mode,utilize genetic algorithm and calculate vehicle route.In the end,the model will be tested with a certain car maker‘s true data,by cost analysis,to demonstrate the economic benefit that milk-run mode will take to the car maker.
