Fiber-optic communication technology is developing rapidly.Fiber couplers are the most basic passive components in fiber-optic communication and fiber-optic sensing.However,the fiber coupler is extremely precise,and the manufacturing process and various performance technical specifications are strict.At present,more than 95%of the fiber couplers are mainly produced by the melt taper method.The heating method is mainly oxyhydrogen flame or CO2 flame heating or electric heating,but these heating methods have disadvantages,which are far from satisfying the actual requirements of fiber couplers.According to the conditions of the fiber fusion cone,the feasibility of the arc heating scheme is analyzed,and the high-frequency high-voltage arc power source is used as the heat source of the fusion cone to improve the quality and performance of the fiber coupler.Firstly,the influence of power output parameters on arc shape stability is studied,and the factors to be concerned when using arc as heat source are analyzed.Then,according to the obtained stable arc parameters,the advantages and disadvantages of different combination transformation topologies are analyzed,the principle of cascade arc power supply is studied,the main circuit topological structure of high frequency and high voltage arc power supply is selected and determined,and the circuit is simulated by Pspice software.Then,considering the control performance of the whole circuit,the system control scheme of the control circuit under stable arc condition is determined,and the control circuit,Buck circuit,half-bridge inverter drive and signal setting circuit are designed.In order to improve the safety and maneuverability of the power supply,arc starting control module and over current protection function are added.On the basis of the above mentioned,the power supply function experiment platform was built to carry out the function experiment of arc starting control and current control.According to the function experiment results,the power supply prototype was developed,and the power supply and arc system debugging was completed.Through the arc temperature field test and analysis,the technical requirements of optical fiber melting cone were met.
