Research On The Influence Of Large Venues Construction On The Urban Morphology In Shenzhen (1979-2018)

Large-scale venues have the characteristics of large scale,high concentration,openness and publicity,which will have a greater impact on the overall and part morphological evolution of the city.In recent years,with the holding of various large-scale sports events,conferences and exhibitions,more and more cities in China begin to attach importance to the construction of large-scale venues.Shenzhen is located in the south of Guangdong Province,the east coast of the Pearl River Estuary,adjacent to Hong Kong.There are 12 districts under the jurisdiction of the city,including 9 administrative districts and 2 functional districts.It is the first special economic zone established in China,the window of China’s reform and opening up and the emerging immigrant city.Since its establishment in 1979,Shenzhen has become an influential modern international metropolis after rapid construction.Under the dual effects of the demand for holding large-scale festivals and urban development,Shenzhen has built many large-scale venues,which have formed a certain scale.The exhibition industry and sports industry carried by large-scale venues are the higher level function expansion of Shenzhen Special Economic Region under the goal of international city.The construction of large-scale venues is also an important means to enhance Shenzhen’s city image and cultural soft power.Taking Shenzhen as the research object,this paper studies the internal relationship between the construction of large-scale venues and urban morphology in Shenzhen from 1979 to 2018 in different levels,stages and levels.According to the site area of large venues,it is divided into A,B and C grades.According to Shenzhen’s urban master plan,major events and venues construction,it can be divided into three periods: the period of supplementing the cultural and sports functions of the old urban area(1979-1995),the period of forming the important nodes of the main and sub-central axis of the city(1996-2005),and the period of new town construction and improving the multi-center pattern of the new city(2006-2018).Using analytical approach of Conzenian School and catalyst theory,this paper analyses the internal relationship between the construction of large-scale venues and the evolution of urban morphology in different periods from the three levels of land,urban district and urban structure.Finally,the construction of large-scale venues in different periods is compared and summarized horizontally,revealing the value orientation of large-scale venues in different periods and the dynamic mechanism of the impact on the evolution of urban morphology.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is the introduction,which elaborates the scope,purpose and significance of the research,the current research situation in related fields,and the research technical route of the paper.The second part is the main part of the paper,which is divided into five chapters.Firstly,the large-scale venues are classified and the construction period is divided.From the three levels of land,urban district and urban structure,the large-scale venues in different periods are analyzed.Finally,it summarizes the situation of three levels and compares them horizontally,and concludes the internal relationship between the construction of large venues and the evolution of urban morphology.The third part is the conclusion.Through this study,the author hopes to understand the role of large-scale venues construction in the evolution of Shenzhen’s urban morphology in different periods,and provide reference for the study of Shenzhen’s urban spatial development trend and the formulation of macro-decisionmaking.
