Research On Port And City Related Development

The development of the port has a very close relationship with the development of the city where the port is located.Many port cities have gradually developed into world-class economic,political and cultural giants,such as the United States coastal cities of New York,Chicago,etc..There are also Shanghai,Tianjin,etc.in China.The development relationship between the port and the city will directly affect the direction and speed of the city development.Therefore,it is necessary to study the relationship between the port and the city.In terms of geographical location,Qingdao is one of the three important port cities in the Bohai Bay,and it is the bridgehead of the Maritime Silk Road.In terms of economy,Qingdao is one of the regional economic centers in the north and even the whole country,it is one of the first 14 coastal open trade ports and the economic leader of Shandong Province.It has established cooperative relations with Japan,South Korea and other countries,and has a large-scale industry chain and many famous manufacturing companies.Qingdao Port is one of the pillar industries of Qingdao,and it plays an important role in promoting the development of Qingdao.It is an important port for foreign trade and the seventh largest port in the world.Therefore,the development relationship between Qingdao City and Qingdao Port plays a vital role in promoting the construction and development of the entire city.This paper takes the correlation degree between Qingdao's port and city as the research goal.Firstly,it uses the coupling coordination degree model to study the coordinated development level of port economy and urban environment in 2013~2017,and concludes the development relationship between the two exists.Then further use the gray correlation model to expand the scope of research,cover the social,economic and environmental indicators of Qingdao from 2002 to 2016,comprehensively study the correlation degree with the port throughput indicators,and link the relationship with Shanghai,Ningbo and other cities.The port city correlation is compared.The study found that:(1)the correlation between port productivity indicators and urban economic indicators is basically above 0.6,and there is a strong correlation between ports and cities;(2)from the time dimension,the association between ports and cities The degree rises before 2009,then gradually declines,showing a trend of first strengthening and then weakening,in line with the development law of the life cycle theory of the port city;(3)the correlation between the ecological environment of Qingdao and the port economy is high,but The level of coordinated development between the two is still relatively low.
