It's necessary to analyze the car body model data manufacturability before the car body products manufacture.The problems existing in design stage are found to avoid the manufacturing cost waste through the manufacturability analysis.Traditional analyses are usually ineffective because of the massive manufacturability analysis contents in car body.Moreover,the accuracy of analyses usually depends on inspection engineer personal experience.And experience inheritance is unsatisfactory.Aiming at these problems,the development and researc of car body manufacturability analysis system for section analysis and RPS positioning are put forward.Development tools assist engineers to complete the car body manufacturability analysis work quickly.The specific researchs are as follows:1)The section class contents in the car body manufacturability analysis contain four inspections which include automatic surface section inspection,fillet interference inspection,multi-sheets transition inspection and car roof beam glue inspection.The RPS class contents contain three inspections which are RPS position inspection,RPS surface inspection and RPS scheme inspection.The contents and corresponding principles of each inspection item are studied in this paper.2)Aiming at four section inspections in the car body manufacturability analysis,the key methods of model pretreatment,sheet metal thickness calculation,interference area extraction and interference value calculation,flange edge extraction and processing are proposed.Combined with the four key methods,the program development flow charts of each section inspection tool are proposed.3)For three RPS inspections in the car body manufacturability analysis,the key methods of part RPS information extraction,RPS coordinate system establishment,RPS surface section judgement are proposed.Combined with the three key methods,the program development flow charts of each RPS inspection tool are proposed.4)Based on the methods and program flow charts,a car body manufacturability analysis system tools for section analysis and RPS positioning was developed.Using CATIA\CAA and SQL Server as the development platform,inspection tools are effective through several case tests.
