In the design period of product, technologies of manufacturability analysis and evaluation are applied to fully consider in manufacturing constraints, to analyze and evaluate the manufacturability of structure design, and to provide the improved feedback information. As a result, manufacturability analysis and evaluation has become one of the key technologies for modern product design, which is used to ensure product design the one-time success rate, improve the development efficiency, and reduce manufacturing cost. Several aspects are deeply researched such as the expression of structure feature information, the decision-making of process course, and the key technique system of manufacturability evaluation. The main achievements are described as follows:⑴Aiming at the features of manufacturability, the overall technical project and strategy of manufacturability evaluation is established with the evaluation target and principle being considered.⑵Based on the feature technology, the description method of product feature is proposed, and the part model faced manufacture in three levels (part, feature and geometry/topology) is set up.⑶On basis of the feature-process mapping, the product process course is achieved by using the method of CBR.⑷As the method for setting up manufacturability evaluation indexes is described, the technologies of manufacturability are established, which are respectively based on finite element analysis, rule, and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation about qualitative and quantitative.⑸Aiming at the features of manufacturability, the computer aided Manufacturability Analysis and Evaluation Support System is designed and developed based on the research achievements, which selects Pro\E as the desgn platform, and combines the tools of Pro/toolkit and Delphi.
