Mechanical seal is a very ideal dynamic sealing device.Compared with other sealing methods,it has better sealing performance,higher reliability,longer service life,and better economy.With the continuous development of industrial technology,the working environment of various rotating equipment has become more and more rigorous,and higher requirements have been put forward for the mechanical sealing work performance.As a result,non-contact mechanical seals with better performance have been rapidly developed.The most important decisive factors for sealing performance include: high-performance mechanical seal face structure design,wear-resistant seal ring material,and micro-surface texture manufacturing technology.Based on the above application background and the existing sealed end face structure and processing technology,this article has studied the influence of structural errors acquired by different machining methods on performance of Wave-Tilt-Dam(WTD)seal,and put forward a new type of face seal structure with Manufacturability to finish the realization of high-performance sealing structure.According to the existing lubrication theory and mathematical methods,the physical model of the mechanical seal was simplified.In terms of theories of finite element method,the JFO boundary conditions were introduced,and the thin layer fluid calculation procedure considering fluid cavitation and mass conservation was written on the MATLAB software platform.Based on the numerical solution of the program developed,the evaluation parameters of the mechanical seal performance are obtained: the liquid film bearing capacity,stiffness,leakage,and cavitation area.Taking the circumferential waviness structure as an example to calculate the sealed flow field,the pressure distribution cloud diagram and the mixed density distribution cloud diagram of the flow field are given.The pre-deformation processing method is a previously proposed method for processing a circumferential waviness seal ring.However,due to the approximation of the machining principle,machining errors are unavoidable.Based on the torsional deformation results of the annular bending beam,this part uses the mechanical se al simulation program as a tool to study the deformation of the sealing ring with a maximum deformation height of 10 ?m under different loading moment ratios,and discusses the influence on sealing performance under different sealing pressures and moving ring rotation speed.The difference on sealing performance between theoretical structure and curved surface structure generated by the pre-deformation method determines the optimal torque ratio for controlling the deformation of the seal ring.Another method for processing a wave-like seal ring,a laser processing technique,that is an approximate processing method applied,is described in principle.Replacing a smooth curved surface structure with a multi-step approximation structure can simplify the machining process and is a relatively easy solution.In order to verify the effectiveness of this processing method,a stepped structure surface was generated by the interval layering method.With the help of simulation program,the influence of the number of steps on the sealing performance was calculated under different sealing pressures and sealing ring rotation speeds.The effectiveness of laser processing methods was convinced.A new type of sealed end face structure was designed,which combines the high performance characteristics of the spiral groove mechanical seal and the self-rinsing and high reliability of the circumferential waviness seal.The influence of three structural parameters on the sealing performance under different working conditions was discussed,and the values of the structural control parameters were determined.The laser etching method was used to realize the processing of the structure surface determined by a set of control parameters.The performance parameters of the actual structure and the theoretical structure were calculated by the simulation program,and it was proved that the laser processing method was achievable.
