During the operation process of the angle grinder,the handle is an important human-machine interaction interface,whose shape can affect the comfort of the user’s grip directly.The traditional small-sized angle grinder owning the single shape has a poor human-machine adaptability,which will cause the hand fatigue and reduction of work efficiency.Due to the above shortcomings,an optimization solution based on the hand physiological characteristics and grip methods of people for the shape of the small angle grinder is proposed in this paper,which will be of great importance for improving the grip comfort ot the angle grinder handle.Based on the hand physiological anatomy of human beings hand grip methods,firstly,the basic movement law of hand,the hand gripping features,and the division of hand pressure are summarized.Besides,the design principles of holding tools is concluded,which will be the theoretical basis for the optimized design of the angle grinder handle.Secondly,three kinds of handle modelling and holding methods are summarized,and small-sized angle grinder whose power is 670 W is chosen to be the sample.And the force situation at hand is analyzed through researching the grip methods of the angle grinder.Eleven targets area points where the contact force between the hand and the handle is large are confirmed by the pressure rnodel of the handle.The pressure value of the point where the contact force is greater is obtained by using the pressure measurement system.Then,the handheld 3D laser scanner is used in rebuilding the 3D model of the hand.The stress and strain are obtained by using the FEM software,and the effect of handle modelling on experimental parameters is sumlarized.What’s more,the principle of the optimization of the handle is concluded to provide the basis for the design of the angle grinder handle.At last,the optimization of the handle shape is proposed,according to the brainstorming method,and 3D printing method is using in making the solid model that will also add the counterweight Then,the optimized hand model and handle model is analyzed.The result shows that the peak value of dle optimized hand pressure is reduced,and the pressure value of the pressure concentration point beyond the red line is also reduced.The uniform distribution of stress and strain leads to an improvement of the comfort of the hand grip.Meanwhile,the feasibility of system design flow and human-computer evaluation is verified,which can provide a valuable theoretical reference for the optimization design of the handle shape.
