Work Stress Effects On General Well-being

The construction industry has been expanding and developing rapidly since the Chinese reform and open.But the construction industry began to face more and more challenges,the employee are under increasing work stress,which not only affect their physical and mental health,but also enormously lower their happiness from working and living,even affect the steady and healthy development of the entire construction industry because of China's economic is enter the state of new normal in recent years.At present,the construction enterprise employees as the research object,select the work value,work stress and general well-being of one or two variables research,had made some research results.But there is no study of relationships among work value,team spirit,work stress,and general well-being.Therefore,this study decided to further explore the relationship between these four variables.This study had surveyed 336 staff and managers from Zhejiang Construction Engineering Group Co.,Ltd.work value questionnaire,team spirit questionnaire,work stress schedule and general well-being Schedule had been performed during the survey.Results and data had been analyzed to discuss the relationship between the general well-being of state-owned construction companies' employees and their work value,team spirit and work stress.My study also tries to find out the role of work value and team spirit,in between general well-being and work stress.The study obtained the following conclusions:(1)State-owned construction company employees varies in aspect of work value,team spirit,work stress and general well-being,considering demographic variables(gender,age,marital status,education,working experience and position).(2)The results of the correlation analysis showed that,state-owned construction company employees' work value,work stress,team spirit and general well-being significant correlation in general.Further analysis showed the following,Work value had significant positive correlation in most dimension of team sprit.Work value had significant negative correlation in most dimension of work stress.Work value had significant positive correlation in most dimension of general well-being.Team spirit had significant negative correlation in most dimension of work stress.Team spirit had significant positive correlation in most dimension of general well-being.Work stress had significant negative correlation in most dimension of general well-being.(3)The results of the regression analysis showed that,work stress could be significantly negative-predict general well-being schedule.Work value and team spirit could be significantly positive-predict general well-being schedule.Work value could be significantly positive-predict dimensions of general well-being,including vigor,interest and satisfaction of life,gloomy or pleasant mood and relaxed or nervous(anxious).Team spirit could be significantly positive-predict dimensions of general well-being schedule,including gloomy or pleasant mood and the control of emotion and behavior.Work stress could be significantly negative-predict dimensions of general well-being,including vigor,interest and satisfaction of life,gloomy or pleasant mood and relaxed or nervous(anxious).(4)The results of the intermediary analysis showed that,The negative impact of the organizational style of work stress on the general well-being could produced indirect effects not only through the achievement orientation dimension of team spirit?work condition dimension of work values,but also had a direct negative effect;Meanwhile,The negative impact of the work-family conflict dimension of Work stress on the general well-being could produced indirect effects not only through the work conditions dimension of work value,but also had a direct negative effect.Achievement-oriented dimension played a partial mediator between the organizational style dimension and the general well-being;The work condition dimension played a partial mediator between the both of organizational style and the general well-beings the work-family conflict dimension and general well-being.
