Space Design Based On Psychological Needs Of The Elderly

With the development of economy and the progress of society,the number of the elderly population is also rising.By the end of 2017,the elderly population in China accounted for 17.3% of the total population.Faced with such a large population of the elderly,all sectors of society attach great importance to it,especially in the spiritual life.The Activity Center for the elderly plays an important role in creating a "learning and enjoying" space environment for the elderly.The elderly activity center is an important part of carrying the spiritual life of the elderly,and has been developed and perfected in the functional space.However,due to the large age span of the elderly and the different health conditions of the body,it is necessary to consider the general situation of the elderly in order to provide activities and learning space to meet the psychological needs of the elderly.Starting from the physiological and behavioral characteristics of the elderly,this paper explores the elements and design principles of the space design of the elderly activity center to meet the psychological needs of the elderly,and strives to create a space suitable for the activities of the elderly,where the elderly are willing to move.
