The Problem And Methods Of Contemporary Ederly Activity Center

At first,China with the world’s most aged population faced a severe pension problems. Pension is a comprehensive project involved of national development, social security, health care facilities, residential life and other aspects, which requires a considerable number and different sizes of supporting facilities, and aged recreational activity is an very important component of this project. At present, though the domestic research on residences and apartments for the elderly is relatively mature, the special research on activity centers for the elderly is not yet sufficient, even some aspects are still in the blank stage. Therefore, started from the indoor and outdoor activities center for senior citizens, the interaction space and barrier-free design, this article investigated and analyzed the common problem, and try to propose appropriate design methods, which can make an benefit for the future design of aged recreational activityFirstly, the paper introduced the development of contemporary backgrounds of aged recreational activity, including the backgrounds of construction,overseas and domestic research status, main functional components of indoor and outdoor activity centers and the form of spatial organization.Then the paper summarized four points of aged recreational activity center design based on the relevant literature, which are accessibility, safety, comfort and communicative, in specific,it means strength the the design of functional space,indoor and outdoor space, communication space and barrier-free design in specific.Thus, started from these four aspects,this paper analyzed the widespread problems of aged recreational activity center based on the preliminary research.And then this article proposed methods of the aged recreational activity center by theoretical proof and comparative case to deal with these problems.Finally, the paper take the design of Tongliao aged recreational activity as an example, and put the proposed methods in practice, moreover, the theory must be improved in practice, and the feasibility must be verified in real projects.
