Research On The Evaluation-based Design Of Medical Functions In Nursing Homes

The population in China is aging rapidly,with more and more disabled and semi-disabled elderly people.The elderly in nursing homes mostly suffer from chronic diseases or diseases easy to recurrent with high demands for medical rehabilitation.Therefore the supporting medical care sector of nursing homes is attracting more and more attention of the elderly and their families.Meanwhile,the government also issues various policies to encourage nursing homes to add medical rehabilitation services.However,due to lack of specific industrial guidance and designing reference for the current supporting medical care sector in nursing homes,there are many problems in the initial stage of building design and later operation stage,consequently leading to the failure in meeting the elderly's medical rehabilitation demands in nursing homes.In order to effectively solve the problems in supporting medical care sector of nursing homes,better fulfill the elderly's medical rehabilitation demands,and provide evaluation methods and designing guidance for supporting medical care sector of nursing homes,the paper conducts a case study on the supporting medical care sector of nursing homes in Qingdao.It selects 8 nursing homes of different scale in Qingdao and carries out an in-depth investigation on them.It aims to explore suitable evaluation methods and designing modes and provide a reference for the designing and development of supporting medical care sector of small-scale,mid-scale,and large-scale nursing homes.By conducting questionnaire surveys and interviews on the elderly in nursing homes,the paper summarizes the prevalence,medical rehabilitation demands,satisfaction on medical care sector,and other relevant information;through photos or videos,on-site observations,field surveys,and other methods,the paper summarizes and analyzes the current design status of supporting medical care sector of nursing homes from the perspective of general situation,functional allocation,flow organization,room use status,and so on.Based on preliminary studies and investigation results,the paper uses analytic hierarch process and refers to expert opinions to establish the evaluation system for supporting medical care sector of nursing homes from four aspects,including overall building layout,functional allocation,main room design,and special requirements.In the end,based on the evaluation system,the paper compares relevant standards of the medical care sector with actual investigation situation according to the logical relationship of hierarchical structure,discusses the designing guidance suitable for supporting medical care sector of nursing homes,and proposes different designing modes for supporting medical care sector of small-scale,mid-scale,and large-scale nursing homes respectively.Through this research,the paper aims to provide reference for future evaluation research and construction of supporting medical care sector of nursing homes in China.
