Research On Regional Traditional Landscape Of Changshu Area

China is a country with a long history and a vast territory,rich in natural resources,beautiful mountains and rivers.Different regions have different styles of land,thus forming various regional landscapes.Nowadays,the rapid development of China is making the traditional regional landscape suffer unprecedented impact.The balance between nature and manual system has been broken and the city is facing serious landscape and ecological crisis.How to properly explore and protect regional landscape under such background and situation is an important work that landscape architecture discipline should carry out.Through exploring the development and evolution rules and pattern characteristics of regional landscape,learning the valuable experience of ancient people in dealing with the relationship between man and land,thus providing theoretical basis for the protection and inheritance of regional characteristics.Changshu is located to the east of Taihu Plain and located in the lower reaches of Taihu Lake Basin.Changshu bears the heavy responsibility of discharging water from Taihu Lake into the Yangtze River.Therefore,the development of water conservancy has been running through the development of Changshu since its ancestors settled down.However,due to the existence of Gangshen,the local topography of Changshu region shows a trend of high northeast and low southwest,which is also what people often call"high villages" and "low villages" in the area east of Taihu lake.Due to this unique natural environment,the water from Changshu area needs to be drained from the lowlands to the higher-lying Gangshen area and then into the Yangtze River.This unique environment has led to the formation of unique water conservancy landscape,agricultural landscape and settlement landscape in Changshu area.From the perspective of regional landscape,Changshu area is selected as the research object.In terms of spatial scope,Changshu’s administrative boundary is taken as the research scope.In terms of time range,the research object was selected at a relatively stable period before industrialization.Through combing the historical development sequence of Changshu area,the regional landscape of Changshu area is analyzed in detail from four aspects:natural environment,water conservancy system,agricultural system and settlement system,and its characteristics are summarized.And the typical settlement samples are selected to analyze the internal connection between settlement and nature,water conservancy and agriculture.Digging up the value of its regional landscape and the disadvantages of its existing construction and development,this paper puts forward the protection contents and strategies of regional landscape and tries to find a suitable road for its development.
